Crabmeat Dip Recipe

by

This lovely crabmeat dip is my sister’s recipe. She prepares this only during New Year’s eve! This is so darn good, so I say, prepare it year-round! It’s a crabmeat dip that’s yummy on crackers, pretzels. It’s the quintessential dip. Simple, elegant and delicious.

Here’s how to prepare it.

Quick and Yummy Crabmeat Dip Recipe

Mix 1 block of cream cheese and 1/4 cup butter in a saucepan over low heat. When blended, stir in a pound of chopped crabmeat. Add a dash of onion powder and black pepper to taste. You can also add a little chopped onion in lieu of the powder if you’d like a sharper flavor to your dip. Use real crabmeat if you can, as synthetic crabmeat just misses out on the juicy, savory flavor of the real thing.

Now if regular cream cheese isn’t available, you can also opt to use Philadelphia Chive & Onion Cream Cheese spread. That’s what we used last Christmas since there wasn’t regular cream cheese at the supermarkets anymore! If you’re using Chive & Onion for the crabmeat dip, there’s no need to put onion or onion powder anymore.

Serve this with pretzel things, crackers or celery sticks. Enjoy!
