The gelato that stopped time

by

Mango Jubilee Gelato from Amici

Friggin’ good gelato. Did a semi-When Harry Met Sally scene. (You know what I’m talking about.) It couldn’t be helped! The experience is beyond words. Imagine this: taking a little spoonful of the gelato, bringing it to your mouth, then experiencing an explosion of icy mango creaminess. You could feel little mango crystals melting on your tongue. And the generous helping of ripe mangoes and berries — fresh blueberries, strawberries! — gave the creamy gelato a little kick.

I’m sure you would also go, “Oh my god ang saraaaaaaap.”

For a split-second there, nothing else mattered. Just me and my gelato. Nevermind if my friends were laughing at (and with) me. It was the gelato that stopped time and everything else. Definitely the summit of that dining experience.

I haven’t even told you what it’s called. It’s Mango Jubilee Gelato from Amici. Move over Vanilla with Hazelnuts Gelato. This Sally’s got a new favorite.

    This looks yummmy!

Btw, there’s a place in Greenbelt which offers creamy gelato too – Gelatone is the name.

Amici is an Italian restaurant. They have a branch in Makati (right beside Don Bosco church) and another in Tomas Morato, QC (or is it Timog? I always confuse the two).

my MIL recommended that place several times to us. kaya lang, they don’t have highchairs so off limits muna kami. :( hopefully this year pwede na si amelie sa regular chair. :) i heard super sarap daw talaga and cheap pa. :)

Thanks for the yummy tip, Toni! Will definitely try this “divine delight” when I go on my home leave next month – excited na ako!!!

Buti na lang my uncle-priest is now based in Don Bosco Makati so when I come to visit him, that’s hitting two birds with one stone for me. Who knows? Baka ilibre pa niya ako sa Amici uli – hehehe! 😆
