What would your cup say?

by

I suppose you can call me a functional coffee drinker. Coffee is taken only when I need a picker-upper, especially when it’s between 1 to 4 pm. Tea is more up my alley, and I do find that it sustains my energy more. But when that quick buzz is needed, ah, thank God for coffee. I just find that I crash as hard as I get that initial buzz.

So how do you like your coffee? I shall have mine with non-fat milk (soy if it’s available) and two sugars. And hey, if it has a little art on its foam just like the ones shown in this video, I’d relish it even more. The care and effort these talented artists put into these art lattes are really cool!

Via Trendhunter.

I haven’t seen much of the coffee shops do such art beyond the usual chocolate leaf or swirls. There was one coffee shop though with two sweet baristas. On my then-pregnant friend’s latte, they wrote in chocolate “It’s a girl!” and on my former boss’s latte they printed out our company name. Their attention to detail was cute.

Wouldn’t it be sweet if you could use these art lattes to convey messages? You see a cute guy at the cafe, order a latte for him and have your name and phone number written in chocolate and foam. How about a “Will you marry me?” for coffee-addicted couples? Or do more bunny art. A little bit of practice I suppose and you’re well on your way to using lattes as a medium for messages. 😉

I like mine with sugar and lots of cream, preferably hazelnut flavor. My coffee is almost white. hahaha.. I don’t know why but I like it really creamy. It’s weird though cause as much as I like dark chocolate and eating bitter things, I don’t like to drink black coffee. I also don’t drink hot coffee past 10 AM unless it’s a latte or something to stave off the cold.

i like my coffee strong—hence, i almost always order a Cafe Americano especially when I have time to site down and savor my cup of coffee. but if i’m in a hurry, i just order a mocha light or mocha frap to go. i love coffee :)

i’ve always experienced great coffee art in figaro in the phils. one time, my cuzin from america and i ordered coffee there and she got a heart on her coffee—she was really pretty and i think the barista liked her hehehe. what a nice way to send the message across.

Awww cute barista! Did she give him a heart back? 😀

In spite of being surrounded by coffee drinkers for most of my working life, I have managed to not become one of them. I do enjoy an occasional non-fat chai.

    Good for you!

And a non-fat chai sounds really good.

I thought the message to your pregnant friend read “You shouldn’t be drinking this” or “have me in decaf”. He he.

Like you, I prefer tea over coffee. I only drink coffee when there’s no other choice.

You’re right!! It must’ve been decaf then. *L*

hm, i love creamy coffee. i dont enjoy it if its non fat milk :p hehe :)

and am not particular with the artwork either, i look for the aroma and the taste :)

can you recommend good tea for me? am not a fan of tea so i dont usually order or try it at all..

Since you like your coffee creamy, perhaps you’d enjoy creamy tea too!

Try the tea lattes at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and Starbucks.

At CBTL, I’d recommend the Chai Latte, English Breakfast Latte and Moroccan Mint Latte.

At Starbucks, try their Black Tea Latte.

I hope these suggestions inspire you to give tea a chance! 😀
