Wasabi Kit Kat: Chocolate with a Kick!

by

Chocolate is love. Spicy food is love. Put them together and they make quite an odd combination. Sure, that Mexican Spicy Hot Chocolate drink at Max Brenner was plenty delicious, but other than that concoction, I haven’t tried any other spicy chocolate. So when my friend JJ mentioned he had some Wasabi Kit Kat, I jumped at the chance to ask for some. Thank you, oh generous JJ, for sharing this yummy snack with me!

Kitkat Wasabi

As soon as I got my share of the Kit Kat, I tore open a pack and grinned at the light green chocolate. It had the safe, sweet scent of white chocolate so I wondered if it would have that wasabi punch. It did. Kit Kat Wasabi is creamy and wafery, just like a regular Kit Kat bar. The wasabi kicks in at the end. YUM. Sweet and spicy light green bliss.

Kitkat Wasabi

Sadly, I don’t think Kit Kat Wasabi is available here in Manila. I’ll be on the hunt for it though. If you spot it in any of the local stores, let me know! I’ll race you to it!

I like spicy food but I haven’t tried this. I’ll try to check if this is available in the UAE. I wonder how it differs from Lindt’s Chili Choco.

Chili Choco has a spicy kick, like a pinch on the tongue. Wasabi Kit Kat has more of a spicy mouth feel, mas buo. That’s the only way I can describe it!

Where can I by one of these? Was speaking with the owner over at asianlamps.net about his asian floor lamps and we got into talking about wasabi lamps (decoration of course) and he linked me to this site.

So if anyone knows (because I can’t seem to find it) where can i buy some?

Asian Stores, Japanese stores… I haven’t found any yet!

    HI Toni!

I’m also one of your avid readers. Though I don’t blog (i just like to check out the adventures of other young mothers like me).

Anyway, I remembered this post when I found a wasabi kitkat being sold on store (yup, found one here in Pinas!). Its on this Japanese store in Paseo de Sta. Rosa. They have this whole wing of a building for Japanese goodies (restaurant, ramen house, boutique, grocery). Yeah, its quite far. But a trip to the Paseo, if not only for the choc, will definitely be worth it.

Oh, it sells 98 pesos each, if you want to know.

    Have a nice day!
