Hope for the Bitten, Wounded and Rashed

by

Insect bites, tiny scratches and wounds, and the darn nappy rash — every time the baby would get any one of these, I used to get frustrated big time. I’m not big on medicinal creams or ointments. Natural is more up my alley, and I wanted to continue using natural stuff for the baby. Natural stuff that worked.

I was browsing the Indigo Baby site when I came upon the Jar of Hope. It’s a first aid gel made from blue chamomile essential oil. While I was familiar with chamomile as an herbal tea, I wasn’t aware of blue chamomile. Apparently blue chamomile has azulene, a healing and anti-inflammatory component. I liked that the Jar of Hope First Aid Gel was 100% natural. So I ordered 1 30 ml bottle for P380.

Jar of Hope First Aid Gel from Indigo Baby

I first tried it on a mosquito bite Timmy had on his arm. Usually, a bite’s redness lasts for a couple of days. When I used the gel on the booboo, it pleased me to see the redness tame down much quicker. I’ve since used the product on Timmy’s little scratches, tiny wounds and nappy rash. So far, I’ve been very happy. I’ve even used the gel on my own little insect bites!

Inside the Jar of Hope

It’s very soothing, especially when the gel is applied cold. I keep my Jar of Hope in the refrigerator and take it out as needed. The cool gel eases the itchiness and swelling very pleasantly.

So hurrah for this natural baby product! My Jar of Hope First Aid Gel is definitely a keeper. It’s helped ease my itchy, painful worries and made Timmy a happier baby, naturally!

I hate insect bites!! I use Indigo Baby’s Shoo Fly Don’t Bother Me. I love it’s smell! But it’s not cheap ha! The big refill bottle costs around 700 and lasts about 2 months (since you have to reapply it every 3-4 hrs).

Quino has diaper rash now (I feel like such a bad mama because I forgot to change his diaper one night). The doc prescribed Calmoseptine Lotion (a small pouch costs PhP36 in Mercury) but so far I see no improvement. My hubby bought Curash in Rustan’s the other week. Will give this a try after the other one runs out.

But I am intrigued by this Jar of Hope coz I’ve heard so much about it. Hmmm…is it effective for diaper rash? As in it’s gone in no time?

Curash works best for nappy rash. I use Jar of Hope only when the nappy rash is very small or light.

But Jar of Hope is great for those little nips and insect bites!

oh i love jar of hope! i used it til raine was about almost 2. works on bites, rashes, scratches and other booboos–even on my zits 😀 it’s a bit pricey though, as is their shoo fly (which i also love). i’ve been using cheaper organic stuff now like human heart nature, but perhaps when breeze, my next baby comes out, will get indigo baby again. :)
