Sun crackers are great for these grey September days!
This is currently Timmy’s favorite weekend snack. I make them for him when we’re both home. Since I work Mondays to Fridays till late evenings, I hardly have time to prepare anything snack-related for my son. That’s why come weekends, I super enjoy making these sun crackers for him.

Crackers, Stick Pretzels and Cheese
Super Fun & Easy Sun Crackers Recipe
What you’ll need:
Flat, round crackers (We like FITA)
Stick pretzels (We like Nagaraya Stick Mini Pretzels – the plain one w/ sugar)
Cheese spread (We like Cheez Whiz)
What you and your kid can do:
- Grab one cracker and spread some cheese on it.
- On this cracker cheese-side up, place your mini pretzels like the rays of the sun.
- Grab another cracker and spread some cheese on it. Put it cheese-side down on top of the previous cracker.
- Voila! You have a sun. To make it even more fun, you can put faces on your sun cracker using chocolate. But you can do without it.
How to enjoy your sun crackers:
It’s all up to you! My 4-year-old likes eating the rays of the sun one by one, then the crackers. I keep a small bowl of cheese dip on the side since sometimes he likes extra cheese on his pretzels.
This is a fun activity to do with kids! Right now, Timmy’s more interested in the eating than creating, but that’s okay. 😀 I enjoy making these for him. I learned this recipe from Timmy’s school during a Parent workshop!
Will you be trying these Sun Crackers out at home? Snap a pic and share them here!
