Washi tapes? I’m scared of getting into the craze. There are a lot of online sellers of washi tapes. I super love browsing through their sites, drooling over the different washi tape designs and imagining how I can use them. It’s an addiction I know I’ll have so I’m trying not to get into it yet.
My sister though has given in to the washi craze. And she’s really good with washi tape! Check what she did to the light switches:
Washified!
Wild about Washi Tape
What is washi tape anyway? I’ve been seeing it in my friends’ Instagram feeds a LOT, plus Pinterest. Now there’s my sister too! From what I’ve seen of washi tape, it looks like masking tape with lots of pretty patterns and designs. They’re functional AND decorative. Pretty, pretty?
How do you use washi tape? Holy cow, I’ve seen so many ways to use it it’s crazy. Here are some awesome pics that are posted around Flickr:

Washi Tape Ideas for Christmas
With Christmas coming up in just a few months, washi tape is surely going to pop up in Christmas craft idea boards on Pinterest! I’m thinking of just using newspaper or old magazine pages to wrap my presents in and use pretty washi to tape it up. What do you think?

Washi Tape Suppliers in the Philippines
My friends have shared that you can get washi tape from Divisoria, but I don’t have the time to go all the way there! I’m looking for washi tape suppliers locally who sell online. So far, these have been recommendations:
Paper Blush – https://www.facebook.com/paperblushph
Paper Chic Studio – https://www.facebook.com/PaperChicStudio
I’m leaning towards Paper Chic studio because of the Paypal option, but Paper Blush has some pretty interesting designs too (but no Paypal). Do you have any recommended online sellers of washi tape? Share, share!
Meanwhile, I’m going to be inspired by what my own sister did! Look around the home for items and fixtures you can washify. A pencil holder? The bed posts? So many blank slates to be washified!!! I’m also going to start thinking of how to use washi tape for Christmas presents, aside from using it as plain ol’ tape to hold the package together. I should start ordering online already before the Christmas rush begins! Uh oh, I have a feeling I’m going to be washified soon. π

September 24, 2013 at 1:01 pm (11 years ago)I got into the washi tape craze last Christmas, because I thought it would be cute way to wrap my presents! I just use paper bags from stores (my favorites are Starbucks and National Bookstore paper bags) or manila paper to wrap it, and then put an accent with tape! I thought it looked simple, but my friends said it looked nice and they didn’t want to tear it off. Ever since then I’ve been collecting tapes (but not as much as how my other friends hoard it). I can’t wait to think of ways to wrap presents and make cards for Christmas this year! The photos here gave me an idea. (Note to self: buy an alphabet stamp set. And new tapes. And baker’s twine.) π

September 25, 2013 at 10:16 am (11 years ago)The light switch idea is brilliant I use washi tape too on about anything – kids sandwhich packs, labels for their shoe boxes and folders and yes the jars.
