On Midnight Sun and other Twilight things

by

It’s been awhile since I wrote about Twilight. Blame it on Failing Breaking Down Dawn. That book really broke my Twilight heart. I’m glad my sisters and girlfriends have read the book. We’ve been analyzing the book in and out. It’s like we needed a support group after that epic disappointment. At least that’s what we thought of the book.

But anyway, let’s carry on with the Twilight Talk! Here are some random Twilight movie and series-related updates!

On the books

So you’ve heard Midnight Sun was leaked? Poor Stephenie. Then again, why’d she give out electronic files of that supposedly super confidential project anyway? Ah well. The damage is done. She’s released a statement in her blog, saying she’s discouraged to carry on. It’s sad. I’d still read it if it came out. Well, provided that her editor does a lot of work, if you know what I mean. She posted the leaked draft on her site if you want to read it. [link]

Stephenie posts a Breaking Dawn FAQ page. She talks about the book cover’s meaning, a little Marcus back story, how different Forever Dawn is from BD, that “R” name, her reaction to the Breaking Dawn controversy. [link]

How well do you know the story of Bella and Edward? Take this quiz on MTV and find out! [link]

On the Twilight Movie

Nov. 20, 2008 is the release date of Twilight in the Philippines. Are you watching it? 😉 We get to see it a day earlier than the U.S. [via]

Clingy Bella, Protective Edward. This picture from the Borders calendar captures their relationship so well. Wouldn’t this have made for a better poster than the current one? Thanks to Caths for sharing the pic with me.

Jacob and Billy. So whatcha think fellas? I think they make a good pair! :) [via]

The American Library Association has a new poster for their READ Campaign featuring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart reading Twilight. You can purchase it too. [link]

This James image kick ass. This is pure menace. Creepy. Awesome. [via]

Cuties! Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner in Cosmo Girl. Click on the link for a bigger pic and to read the interview.[via]

Catherine Hardwick re-shot some scenes for the movie. Interesting! [link]

Pretty prom couple! I wonder if this is an outtake? Edward doesn’t smile that way. 😉 [via]

In other Twilight-related news

The Girl with a Curl bakes a Vampie. It looks spectacular. Don’t you think she should make more pies inspired by New Moon and Eclipse, too? 😉 Thanks to J. for letting me use her pic. Click on the link for more Vampire Pie a.k.a. Vampie Love. [link]

So which came first?

The smoldering Edward gaze

or

Zoolander’s Blue Steel? 😉

Oh goodness, the pics were cool, i’d so much love to read Breaking Dawn, but then again, I can’t find Eclipse here, I need to get that before i read BD.

First of all, Breaking Dawn was not an epic fail. I laugh that people are still crying and kicking their feet about about it. What did you expect to happen… Everyone dies and Bella runs off with the circus? Picky much? Get over it. And I read the MS leak, and I think its fantastic. What are you even talking about with the editor comment? Where’s YOUR book? Oh, don’t have one? Then shut up.

    That is all.

Hi Michelle. As you can see, this is a personal blog and I share my views here. You’re welcome to sharing yours as well, but please do so in a respectful manner.

I want to see Midnight Sun published! I hope she does. I love would love to read Edward’s viewpoint!

And nice to see another Twilight post from you again, Toni! 😉

thanks for the links and pics toni! i’m still not too “solb” about the actor who’ll be playing jacob. fave ko pa naman si jacob, hehe! i wonder how he’ll transform to the hunky giant wolf eventually? but james… oohh *kilabot*! 😀

ps. i’d have to disagree with your other commenter and agree with you that BD WAS an epic fail. and i can’t stop crying and kicking about it because i loved the previous books too much that the disappointment over BD was just all too crushing. i don’t easily move on from something like that.

perhaps, i’m emo like miss swan that way. :)

Bagets na bagets pa si Taylor ‘no? I can’t wait for him to “grow up.” I want to see the Eclipse Jacob!!

Thanks for the comment love. I was really heartbroken with BD too. I too didn’t move on easily from it. Ah well.

i’m glad the movie will be shown in the philippines in november, too! i have to find someone who will look after abby. either that or i’ll watch the movie by myself! ha!

i will, of course, read midnight sun when it gets published. edward fan here! 😉 i do feel it’s going to be published somehow. fearless forecast, SM will get over her current state of disappointment and frustration over the leak.

before i go, may i just say that i hope some overly obsessive SM and Twilight fans learn to respect the opinion of others. even SM was aware before BD even came out that the book will not please everyone. oh well.

ps: i have the twilight calendar. so i turned into a crazed fan. hahaha! but i don’t have a t-shirt so maybe, i’m not that crazed yet…but i do have the entertainment weekly issue, too! nyahahaha!

Thanks for the love Weng. Ooh you have the calendar pala! Are the other images nice also? We still don’t have it here. I have the EW issue too! O game, t-shirts na!! 😛

I always love your posts, Toni. That includes your reactions to the books though we may not exactly agree on some things. (Our sentiments about BD are quite similar though.)

    God bless! 😉

    Thank you chelle! :)

Hi Toni! Your entries about Stephanie’s novels have really made me so interested to read them. Sadly, there’s no National Bookstore or Powerbooks here in the province…have to get my copies when we go on a trip to Cagayan de Oro this month.

@ Michelle – I doubt very much if one needed to write a book in order to give a sound review or reaction to one…There are lots of people who maintain to be just avid readers and it doesn’t limit them from sharing their views and takes on the books they read. One more thing, you don’t have to be rude just to make a point, you can actually do it nicely or with respect.

I hope you do get to read them! They’re easy reading and quite entertaining! :) Thanks for the comment love.

hi toni! i already read Midnight Sun’s draft and it really is fun to read Edward’s point of view, more of he said, she said :) too bad though for Ms Meyer that it was leaked to the public and she was so kind to consider no malicious intent in doing so, but i disagree..

LOL! That smoldering Edward gaze and Zoolander’s Blue Steel cracked me up!

I am obsessed with Twilight at the moment. It’s almost 2 weeks since I first read it and not a day goes by that I don’t read one of the books. It’s almost embarrassing to admit but I am hooked. I even joined a twilight forum. lol

I’m miffed that the movie will show on January here which really sucks. I hope that still changes, but I doubt it. They ALWAYS show movies late here. *sob*

I actually like Midnight Sun more than Twilight. I think. Can’t wait for it to be published. I know she will publish it someday, if not next year. *fingers crossed* 😀

Haha! I’m glad someone found the Edward/Zoolander Blue Steel look funny too!

I liked Midnight Sun too. It’s a draft yes, so there will be editing I assume. The essence though I love. I like seeing what’s going on in the human’s minds.

Hmmmmmm…..December release for Australia now….I checked! :( But I have spent the last 2 days reading Midnight Sun and omg….I love it so far! I want her to finish it! It is like reliving the love story all over again but with a whole new and interesting perspective! And really, that’s my basic reason for loving this series! *sigh*

brissiemum2s last blog post..Rainy Days and Cupcakes!

December! By that time you would’ve probably read several movie reviews online already. 😀

I liked Edward’s POV too! I like seeing what’s in Mike Newton’s head. Hahahahaha!
