When some of my Twitter friends were going nuts about ChaTime, I knew I had to try it. More milk tea craziness!, I thought. One friend in particular was super nuts about the place, and her very detailed description of the drinks with matching big gestures and strong emotions were enough to send me into milk tea madness. ChaTime is a Taiwanese milk tea chain. The first time I stepped into its Pioneer branch, I was overwhelmed by the menu. Mellow milk teas. Oriental pop teas. Fresh teas. Mousses. Juices. Different special blends. Smoothies. Wait, did I say mousses in my tea? Oh yeah.
You can also add toppings to your tea such as sago pearls, coconut jelly, grass jelly, pudding, rainbow jelly, red beans, aloe vera. This costs either P15 or P20, depending on the topping.
If you’re not a tea drinker and are dragged by your friends to ChaTime, don’t worry. They serve coffee too. But if I were you, I’d give at least one of their tea drinks a try!
You can choose between regular and large sized drinks, the quantity of ice in your tea (no ice, less ice, normal, extra), and the amount of sugar (0 percent, 30 percent, 50 percent, 80 percent, normal, extra).
This was my very first ChaTime drink, as recommended by my two friends who were so happy I was finally in ChaTime with them: Brown Rice Green Milk Tea with coconut jelly.
Brown rice green milk tea, regular-sized: P75.00. Coconut jelly: P20.00. Going gaga over the drink: Priceless. Wait, it’s not priceless because after one sip, I knew I was returning for more. Gotta make room in the budget for milk tea madness.
I LOVED their Pioneer branch. Their store is situated at Pioneer Center, right beside the Pioneer supermarket. It looks small on the outside, but their second floor is super awesome. It was wide and airy, great for hanging out after a long day at work. I wasn’t able to take pictures because I was too busy with my drink and chilling out. Seriously.
My second experience with ChaTime was at their Wilson branch. This is cozier than their Pioneer branch. Once you step into the store, this is what you see:
The Chatime counter, and a nook on the left where you can watch TV up close. If you’re bringing a car, note that parking in the area is a bit scarce. This time around I ordered ChaTime Roasted Milk Tea, LARGE with pearls. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I’m definitely going back. My husband will just have to double-park!
There’s also ChaTime in Landmark Makati, Robinson’s Galleria and Banawe. ChaTime is owned by the folks at French Baker. Hey maybe we’ll have delicious food to accompany our milk tea madness soon.
I can’t wait to go back to ChaTime with my friends! My Twitter friends should arrange a Tweet-up at ChaTime. If it weren’t for them going gaga over the place, I wouldn’t have gone gaga over ChaTime myself. I wonder if you’ll go gaga too!

If you like taro, you should try their Taro Milk Tea, or Taro Red Bean Milk Tea :)))
