My Allies

My Allies

I did some traveling last week, and thank goodness for these two allies — Berocca and Strepsils!! If not for them, I think I would have gotten the flu while I was abroad. I guess they did their job. But once I got back to the familiar, my resistance went down. And now I have the flu. Phooey.

Berocca and Strepsils are still at my side, as well as boxes of tissue, water and some cold medicine. I feel like an old woman. My good friend Dr. E said there are no quick fixes to to respiratory infections, and that I have to wait for my body’s immune system to win the battle for me. Go, go, go body! We can do this!

How’s your health today?

I am a big fan of Berocca! Anytime stress levels are expected to go up (long work hours, etc.), I insist on taking it.

Hope you feel better soon. At least it’s the weekend na. You can just stay in bed and sleep. :)

I prefer strepsils simply because I have not tried Berroca yet.

My health? Pretty okay though I have a lot of muscle pain. Time to really book that massage that I’ve been looking forward to all week.

    Glad you’re feelin better.

Try Berocca. Especially on days when you need that extra push!

    hi toni,
    hope you feel better soon.
i too came from 11 days of travel and on the way back to sydney, i got a very bad case of cough, according to the doctor i was nearly bronchitic :( i just finished my antibiotics yesterday but still have a few coughs here and there. so now with the help of lots of water and strepsils, i also just have to wait for my body to get well.

    have a great weekend!

For those times when you really need to get well quickly and can’t afford to get sick for long (due, maybe, to a forthcoming major event), I have a friend who swears by acupuncture. A 2-week flu can get transformed into a super-intense, but super-short overnight flu instead.

Wow acupuncture! Never tried that before. :) Could you send me the contact details in case I feel brave enough to push through with it?

Hi Toni. Your post reminds me of that saying, “Starve a fever, feed a cold.” I think it’s a myth, though! Hope you’re better and on your way to best with lots of good, rib-stickin’ comfort food.

Hope you get better soon. When you feel better, maybe you can do the short tag from my site.
