Alin, alin, alin ang naiba?
My sister P loves to bake. She’s mega-O.C. so baking suits her. I, on the other hand, dislike measuring and just throw things into a pan hoping what comes out is edible. You can’t bake that way! P is so talented she has made money out of her baking skills selling her goodies during school fairs. Her cookies were always a hit – Neopolitans, Oatmeal, Peanut Butter… yum!
She baked a cake called Better than Sex once. It was really good! We were praising it one evening but couldn’t use the S word because my kid cousin was there. So my Uncle goes, “Ang sarap ng Better than S cake mo, Patti!” And my cousin goes, “What’s S, Daddy?” He goes, “Saturday! Better than Saturday!” Hehehe.
Her Chocolate Cupcakes are always a treat. They’re always coated with gooey chocolate, the cupcakes are spongey and taste so full, and there will always be a surprise inside each one! Sometimes it’s more gooey chocolate, other times it’s cream cheese. *drool*
She baked the ones in the picture during my sister’s graduation party a couple of months ago. I was helping her put sprinkles on each one and would beg her for a taste of just one cupcake. She was very strict about it and would say, “No.” When we had packed most of the cupcakes neatly in their containers, there were a couple that couldn’t fit into the containers anymore. I ate them all! *evil laughs*
Why am I writing this? I feel sentimental. It’s been four months since I’ve tasted any of her cupcakes. School takes up a lot of her time and work takes up a lot of mine. I kinda miss coming home from work, opening the refrigerator and seeing her baked goodies stock the cold shelves. Then I’d pop a cupcake or two before retiring for the night. I asked her if I could share her recipe with you but she said no. Just another one of her baking secrets! I guess I’ll have to wait for the next big family gathering before I could taste one of these again! Maybe I should make up an event just so I can sink my teeth into one of those chocolate cupcakes! Hmmm…
