Do I like the taste of the leafy greens? Not really. Do I load up on the dressing? Not even. I just don’t find it filling enough. I eat salads anyway when I feel I’m having a fat day or when I’m craving for it (which isn’t often).
But going to Sonya’s Garden in Tagaytay is always a treat. HER salads I like. The greens are fresh and her dressing tastes great. In the picture my salad has lettuce, fresh mangoes, cucumber, hard-boiled egg, pineapple bits, beans and her special dressing. I had two big servings. Mmmmm.
Maybe it’s the ambience in her garden that makes eating a salad a wonderful experience — there’s a whispering breeze, the sound of water flowing from a fountain, the sound of leaves and flowers rustling… Maybe I’d eat more salad if everyday was that relaxing!

September 19, 2005 at 4:03 pm (19 years ago)whee! una ako mag-comment. wahaha!
i love eating salad greens, as well as making them myself. besides the ingredients you mentioned, i add carrots to my salads. dressings are usually light mayo with a little ketchup (para kunwari thousand island), or the real thousand island dressing that can be bought in the grocery, or vinaigrette (tama ba spelling?).
basta, ang ending… masarap! 😉

September 20, 2005 at 2:25 am (19 years ago)I’m not sure kung meron dyan pero my absolute favorite dressing it the raspberry hazelnut vinaigrette. I know it sounds weird (I thought so too) pero it’s so delish! And low fat as well. I think Kraft makes it. Ako rin, paminsan minsan nag sasalad although I’ve been eating more salad now than before.
