Prosperity Candles for New Year’s Eve

by

Every evening on Dec. 31, my husband and I light prosperity candles outside our home. It’s a tradition we started since we were newlyweds. Ten years later, we still carry it on!

More about Prosperity Candles

Prosperity candles come in a set of 7 candles. Each candle represents various aspects of life. RED stands for life, BLUE stands for peace, YELLOW for good spirit, VIOLET for material wealth, GREEN for money, PINK for love/health, ORANGE for brightness.

I think the definitions of each color vary depending on which manufacturer you buy your prosperity candles from. This is the first time I’ve encountered “brightness” as an aspect of life 😛 It’s also funny how love and health were combined. Anyway, this is all done in good fun! So let’s just go with it. 😉

How do you use prosperity candles? Thirty minutes before New Year’s eve (ie 11.30 pm of Dec. 31), light all the candles. Blow the flames out at exactly 12 midnight. The shortest candle is the blessing you will be most abundant in in the coming year. Exciting, right?

Prosperity Candles for New Year's Eve

We got our Prosperity Candles at National Bookstore. They cost about P30.00 per set. Go try them for New Year’s Eve! It’s all in good fun. :)

I’m looking forward to which candle will be shortest for us! Pink would definitely be my most preferred color. Health is wealth, right? And love makes the world go round. Cheesy, but true. :)

If you were to light these prosperity candles, which color candle would you prefer to be the shortest?

I think 2 years ago, we used this too. And I forgot what color was the shortest. Since the girls and I will be going to SM, I will pass by National Bookstore, and will buy one. Wishing health and wealth, in that order (hahaha!) . Happy New Year to you and your family.

Hi Toni! Thanks for sharing this. I was searching the net for prosperity candles and came across your blog. My family started that same tradition every New Year’s Eve, too, a few years ago. However, I can’t seem to find any around lately, even in NBS. Do you know where I can buy some? Thank you in advance! Happy Holidays! :)
