Last Thursday’s Nestle bloggers event was a-poppin’ with fun. As bloggers popped into the Nestle Creamery, introductions were made, fresh faces were associated with blog titles, and conversations on the blogging life popped here and there. Then the evening happily popped with dinner, an interesting presentation on the Pinoys’ love for snacking, the tasting of a yummmy new Nestle product, and a fun game that sent bloggers hopping and popping around the floor.
Yep, it was poppin’ bloggin’ dinner indeed from Nestle Pops — vanilla ice cream coated in chocolate. Mmm. But more on that snack in a bit. π
I enjoy going to bloggers events when I can. It’s fun meeting new people, especially if they already share a hobby of yours. Small talk is never a problem, haha! It was fun hanging out with these super-nice bloggers. Pictures, pictures!

I also met Yoga Mama Jane but we didn’t get our picture taken together!
More blogger stories in a bit! At the event, we were welcomed by the organizers (shoutouts to Mads and Rosh!) and the Nestle clients (hello to Gel and K.E.!). They were super warm and accommodating. I enjoyed talking to them! It would have been fun to have had longer conversations with each of them but of course, they had their hands full with the event!
The evening kicked off with a buffet dinner. I enjoyed the chicken lollipops. π I finished my food quickly though, so while the others were still eating I went around the Nestle Creamery. The ice cream display beckoned me.
Side story. I wanted to get that dark red ice cream (third column, first row). The ice cream man said that tub of red was not filled with ice cream but frozen strawberries used for topping. Before I could ask if ordering a scoop of just frozen strawberries was possible, the event began. Darn. Heehee.
The first highlight of the event was tasting the Nestle Pops! Here’s the thing. I love ice cream, but I’m not fond of hardened chocolate and ice cream together. I’m not a fan of ice cream sandwiches or soft-serve cones coated with hard chocolate. Uh-uh. This changed my mind though. And I’m not just saying this!
I was honestly a bit apprehensive as I popped one in my mouth. But when the chocolate melted on my tongue and the cold vanilla ice cream exploded, ah well, I changed my mind. I popped two more in my mouth before reluctantly passing on the tub to the next blogger. π
Nestle Pops was immediately on my mental to-do list: Get a tub for some midnight snacking love.
Now here comes the second highlight of that poppin’ bloggin’ night: THE GAME. Now this is when the bloggers started poppin’ and hoppin’.
We were given a sneak peek of the Nestle Pops online game. The objective was to flick as many Pops into the mouths of the animated characters as you can under a given amount of time. You guys can play this game too and win prizes like an XBox 360 with Rock Band! W0000t! Here’s the link: [Get your pop on!] For that bloggers challenge, the prize was a Lomo Pop 9 camera to the blogger with the highest score!
That’s Nina in the middle — we tied at 2nd place and won a Nestle ice cream gift certificate each.
That’s Fran shooting pops into the Pop’d Stars mouths.
The ice cream guys at the Creamery amused us with their dancing while we gamed on.
Dine won 3rd place! The lady in the background is Jayme, who was also my seatmate during the presentation.
We all tried our best but it was Arpee who took home the Lomo Pop 9! Congratulations man!
The great thing about the gaming part was that while the bloggers were technically competing with one another, we were all supporting each other too. We cheered each other on, hopped and popped around to gave encouragement to each other. It was a-poppin’ with a lot of fun! We all went home with a gallon of ice cream and lots of Nestle Pops. Yey!
I’ll write a separate entry for the Nestle Pops product itself! It deserves an entry all its own. Thanks to Nestle for this fun bloggers event. And now I’m off to warm up my trigger finger — to toss some Pops into my mouth and into those Pop’d stars mouths for that XBox and Rock Band prize! π
Now how many times did I use “pop” in this entry? π
