Pig Out Food

by

Chips and salsa… one of my favorite snacking combos! Perfect for a pigging out treat and couch potato day. Are chips and salsa your pig out food too? Or do you snack on something different? Tell me! Tell me! Here’s my chips and salsa ritual when it’s pigging out time.

Salsa

Grab a bottle of salsa. This is one of my favorite brands. I’d also recommend Bravo’s Pepperonata sauce as a chips dip. Mmmmm!

Chips

Nachos, Doritos, Mr. Chips, Nova… whatever chip choice you desire is fine with me! I prefer Tostitos AND Granny Goose Tortillas.

Yummy

Place some chips in a microwaveable bowl, then top with salsa.

Top with cheese

Cheese makes your salsa dip creamier. I think I put too much though! My dip ended up a tad too salty. I’ll use maybe just 1 slice of cheese next time.

Zap it

Stick it in the microwave for about a minute and a half. Make sure to cover it with a paper towel to guard against salsa splatters!

It tastes better than it looks!

Mix the salsa and the cheese, munch on the hot and crunchy chips, grab that soda and get settled in front of the TV… time to catch up on those seasons of Entourage!

tortilla chips are my favorite junk food at the moment! i sprinkle them with cheese, put them in the oven til the cheese melts, and eat them with or without salsa. i like home-made ones, with tomato, spring onions and mango bits the best, but katamad to chop! hehe…

ey, sidney, this is gulay: corn chips, and the salsa is tomato based naman, hehe :)

I loved Doritos too with salsa. Perfect combination. I like Lays Sour Cream too.

I also love Nova, Tortillos and various potato chips. Recently I’ve been eating a lot of those Oishi garlic bread.

Hi! One slight variation (and cheaper too) will be a small pouch of Del Monte Pizza sauce (the spicy one) and 4 packets of cheez whiz. No need to microwave unless you want it warm.

I recently discovered pepper jelly and cream cheese. Mix them and it’s awesome! I eat them with Wheat Thins. another thing that’s good with cream cheese is this pepper & onion relish from Harry & David. OH man, I’m hungry just thinking about it.

Microwave popcorn is my latest craze nowadays. It seems I have been popping those corn kernels every night lately while going through my movies collection.
No wonder our living room smells of popcorn butter which have stuck to the walls. 😀

Ay, that does look yummy! I try not to use the microwave too much though, because my Tita recently got a tumor in her stomach (she was so bloated that she looked like she was 5 months pregnant) and had to get it removed AND undergo chemo treatments. She did research and it seems microwave radiation. She lives alone so for convenience she gets a lot of takeout and heats them out in the microwave. Now praning ako about using the microwave, especially for Annika’s food

Fave ko din ang tortilla chips. Pero sa cupboards ko madalang na may stock na chips. We tend to stay away from it unless there’s parties in the house and for sure lagi may Tostitos with salsa. I like that one in your photo as well. Although I like the mild one with lots of corn and beans pati. Sweet tasting kasi.
