What did you do in 2005 that you’d never done before?
Take a writing class. Cook a lot. Didn’t go abroad at least once. Pay a huge amount on my credit card bill. Write people during Christmas on what I admired about them (my way of spreading positivity). Attempted digital scrapbooking.

Did you keep your New Years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
My resolutions were probably “Save more. Exercise more.” No, I didn’t keep them. I’ll try to make these resolutions come true this year. *crosses fingers*

Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yes! One officemate, my high school best friend and another friend.

Did anyone close to you die?
No.

What countries did you visit?
See answer to first question.

What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
More savings. A fresher home. More clothes. More money to pay bills. More time for vacations. Kids. Financial wisdom.

What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
December dates with my college friends (major barkada reunion). It took 7 years for us to be together so who knows? Maybe the next one will take another 7 years. I sure hope not.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Work-related stuff. On the home front, being more at ease in the kitchen.

What was your biggest failure?
Not being able to save as much as I wanted to.

What was the best thing you bought?
A shoe cabinet. Eek! That’s kinda sad. It’s also a testament to my OC tendencies.

Whose behavior merited celebration?
H, for his dedication to Badminton. He even won a doubles tournament with his officemate! And he lost a lot of weight. Galing.

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Chismosa officemates. The walls have ears you know.

Where did most of your money go?
Food! Eating out, deliveries. It was a prosperous foody year.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Writing class.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
— Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? — Thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? — Richer.

What do you wish you’d done more?
Travel.

What do you wish you’d done less of?
Play video games.

Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
I don’t hate people. I’m too nice a person. It annoys me. Maybe I should make a resolution to be meaner in ’06?

What was the best book you read?
I Am Charlotte Simmons. The Undomestic Goddess . I also read a LOT of chick lit in ’05.

What did you want and get?
I wanted to be inspired at work again. Check.
I wanted to cook more dishes. Check.
I wanted to take a writing class. Check.
I wanted to move from Blogger to WordPress. Check.
I wanted to take better care of my health. Kinda check.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Kids? Maybe.

What kept you sane?
My husband. My best friends E and B. My officemate B. Writing poetry. Blogging. Cooking. Home.

Who was the best new person you met?
Blogkadahan. (Pinoy bloggers from around the world)

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
“Everyday you wait is another day wasted.” (One Tree Hill)

What was the nicest thing someone told you about yourself:
Something work-related. On the home front, sumasarap na raw luto ko.

What did you like most about yourself this year?
More disciplined with my eating. While I overate on several occasions, I’m more mindful of what I eat most of the time.

What did you hate most about yourself this year?
Lack of intiative to exercise.

Was 2005 a good year for you?
Yep.

What was your favorite moment of the year?
My birthday.

Where were you when 2005 began?

Our home, with my in-laws.

Where will you be when 2005 ends?

I was in our home, with my in-laws. It’s tradition now.

Do you have a New Year’s resolution for 2006?
Be wiser with money. Pay off that credit card bill. Travel more. Cook more. Relearn things (I recently bought a World History textbook and the GEMS textbook on Philippine Literature). Read more quality books (Tama na ang chick lit, konti-konti nalang!).

How are you different now that the year has ended?
I’m more at peace with my body image. I’m more at peace with what I have and don’t have.

What are your wishes for the New Year?
Positivity. I have made a choice not to listen to negative people, especially if they don’t know what they’re talking about. Good health. Prosperity!

Got this from Ajay. Happy New Year to all!!!

Great answers Toni. It would be a surprise how you and your blog friends have so much in common. We all want to pay our credit card bills, travel, etc. i also want to read less chick lit & spend more time cooking. Hope your wish to have a baby comes true in ’06..oops, babies pala, hehe. Cheers!!

happy new year toni, that’s a great wish for 2006: positive outlook in life and trying to look at the brighter side of things even when they’re really really bad.

p.s. where did you buy your shoe cabinet!? hahaha! OC meets another OC. i’ve always wanted that but couldn’t find a decent one.
