How to make Cheesy Garlic Bread

by

This Cheesy Garlic Bread recipe is so easy to follow! I’ve had this recipe for ages, and it’s my favorite recipe of allllll the recipes I have. Why? First of all, it reminds me of my late Grandpa. He loved my Cheesy Garlic Bread. Since he loved spicy food, we’d always make him his own loaf with extra extra garlic. Second, it’s so easy to prepare and big on flavor. Third, you can eat this bread on its own or pair it with pasta, a tomato-based dish, or roasted veggies.

Are you ready to learn how to make Cheesy Garlic Bread? Let’s get started! Here’s what you need:

Cheesy Garlic Bread: What you need

Cheesy Garlic Bread Ingredients:

  • Two (2) baguettes
  • Two bowls of grated cheese (one huge bowl in the pic above)
  • Two heads of garlic, crushed
  • Two tablespoons of Dried Oregano
  • Two tablespoons of Dried Thyme
  • One tablespoon of Mustard (if you opt for powdered mustard, use Two Tablespoons)
  • Two tablespoons butter
  • If you have fresh herbs, go for fresh!

    Recipe:

    Step 1:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Make several diagonal pockets in each baguette. Don’t slice through the whole baguette — make sure they’re pockets. The whole baguette has to remain intact. You can also slice the baguette in half for convenience. That’s what we did!

    Step 2:
Combine the cheese, garlic, oregano, thyme and butter. Mix, mix, mix until the flavors blend together! See here:

    Step 3
Stuff the cheese filling into the slits you made on the baguette. (Secret: I pat a little butter into each pocket for extra flavor before putting in the cheese filling!)

Wrap each loaf in tin foil, then put into your pre-heated oven. Cook for 25-30 minutes.

    Ready for the oven!

And that’s it! I check the bread on the 25th minute. I want the bread to be toasted, and the cheese gooey and melty. Like this:

This is my favorite part: the top or bottom part! It makes a really great spoon when eating Poached Eggs in Tomato Sauce, or sopping up a Basil Pesto sauce in pasta.
