Learn how to Fold a Towel Elephant

by

There's a Pink Elephant!

This was one of the new things I learned last weekend – how to fold a towel elephant. It was so much fun! I was a bit frustrated at first, but when I got the hang of making those elephants, I kinda got hooked.

The Checkered Elephant

All you need is one big towel and one hand towel. Or in my case, I used two hand towels and just folded the other one in half. The elephant will look best in matching towels, but do feel free to mix patterns. See my little checkered-faced elephant above.

After creating my pink elephant, I took out more hand towels from the kitchen drawers. This was all done in my parents’ home, by the way. I raided my Mom’s cabinets, made my towel elephants and let them loose on her kitchen counter. Behold my Towel Elephant parade!

Parade of the Elephants on the Counter

This is how my Pink Elephant looks sideways. Cute trunk, don’t you think? It couldn’t stand on its own though. One bottle of tuyo (dried fish) did the trick. If you look closely, you’ll see the edge of the bottle between those elephant legs.

Towel Elephant Sideways

I learned how to make a towel elephant right from this site. Thanks to Shai for the lead.

You can also make other towel animals like towel cats, towel monkeys, towel lobsters and towel dogs.

Enjoy the towel fun!
