10 Waking up Yoga

Thanks to Christianne for this fantastic challenge. She knows I’m a huge fan of The Sims! I enjoyed this a LOT! I haven’t played The Sims in ages so this was very much welcome. If you’re a fan of The Sims like I am, I am sure you understand my fascination with the game and the details that come with the storytelling. Here’s a day in the life of my Sim named Aurora.

01 Wake up

Aurora is a History graduate at the Académie Le Tour. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.9 GPA! It should’ve been a 4.0 but she fell head over heels in love with her English professor, Prof. Brandon Carr. Ah, well. You’ll see how that turned out.

02 Good morning

Good morning! Aurora usually wakes up at 6 a.m. She doesn’t look to happy to get up without the sun out yet. Blame it on her body clock. Aurora knows she has a full day ahead of her that’s why she gets up so early.

04 Morning Reading

After freshening up, Aurora gets some morning reading done. She’s brushing up on her cooking skills here, so she’s probably reading a cookbook. She’s a foodie. She would be watching the Yummy Channel now but she doesn’t want to watch television so early in the morning.

05 Cooking Breakfast

Mmmm. All those recipes made her hungry. Time to cook breakfast! As you can see, Aurora lives alone. She is saving up money for her dream house and for her upcoming wedding. She gets a lot of help from Motherlode (hehehe).

05 Getting out the Ingredients

Can you guess what she’s cooking? She’s opening up a box of eggs here. Also on her tray are a block of cheese, bell peppers and some ham. Aurora always makes time for breakfast. She doesn’t take coffee though. There just isn’t enough space in her kitchen for an espresso machine.

06 Cooking

The sun is out! This is Aurora’s favorite part of the day. She loves preparing her breakfast as the morning light fills her kitchen. It’s one of her little joys.

07 Yummy Omelettes

She cooked omelettes! Yum. She also knows how to prepare pancakes and toaster pastries for breakfast, but she was craving for omelettes this morning. She doesn’t like eating alone so she looks pretty miserable here. That and there aren’t enough lights in the dining room.

08 Blogging Perhaps

After breakfast, she sends and checks e-mail. Maybe she’s blogging too! She spends about an hour on her computer. Her old college friends go online at about this time and they have their usual morning chats. Aurora has three close friends from her university, Vyn (her dorm mate who she made over), Kari (a member of the secret society) and Donna (who she influenced a lot to write her term paper).

09 Paying Bills

Eek! Bill payment time. She uses up a lot of electricity at home so her bills are a tad high. Oh well. Most of the electricity expense comes from having a lot of parties. She enjoys hosting intimate gatherings. Her most recent one was a small brunch with her neighbors when she first moved into Pleasantview, right after graduating from college.

10 Waking up Yoga

Aurora’s morning wouldn’t be complete without her yoga. She can do a lot of complicated positions but this one looked most camera-friendly. Sometimes she uses her treadmill. She hardly works out in front of the TV or with the radio. The sound distracts her. Exercising serves as her meditation too.

11 Calling Sweetie

After her yoga, she freshens up again and gives her sweetie a call. Aurora is engaged, by the way. You’ll meet her beau in a little while. Her fiance usually has his work break at around this time of the day and the two lovebirds talk for a bit. In this conversation, Aurora is proposing that they go on a cruise for their honeymoon.

12 Sous Chef

Her car pool has arrived! Aurora works as a Sous Chef. She’s dreaming of being on top of the Culinary ladder! With her cooking and creativity skills about to be maxed out, she’s well on her way to fulfilling that dream of hers.

13 Home Sweet Home

She arrives late in the evening, around 9 pm. It’s been a looooong day. There’s the newspaper on her front steps and she’s wondering whether she’ll do the crossword puzzle or make a paper airplane out of it.

14 Inviting Sweetie

Aurora decides to call her fiance instead. She always gets this giddy when they’re talking on the phone. She invites him over for dinner, promising him a fantastic new meal that she just learned from her kitchen. Her fiance agrees and says he’ll just gussy up before leaving for her home.

15 Sweetie Arrives

And he arrives! Who is this mystery fiance of hers? It’s Prof. Brandon Carr, her English professor and college crush! The two had a thing for each other back at the university, complete with little pink hearts over their heads. They only got those big red hearts upon Aurora’s move to Pleasantview though. After a little courtship, the two got together and eventually engaged! Aurora looks like she missed her fiance a lot here.

16 Preparing Dinner

Okay! Time to show off a little bit. Aurora always wants to impress Brandon with her cooking skills. She’s cooking pork chops for dinner. Her ingredients are simple: olive oil, onion, an apple and the chops. She likes laying out her ingredients the way the TV chefs do. Who knows, she might be one someday!

17 Burnt Pork Chops

But… geez! She overcooked her pork chops! There was a little fire and she managed to extinguish it quickly, but her pork chops were just charred. She’s heartbroken. She’s not used to kitchen disasters like this. Brandon is still in the den watching the sports channel, but he’s beginning to sense the burnt pork chops and his fiance’s disappointment.

18 I Still Love You

Brandon assures Aurora that he still loves her despite the burnt pork chops. Why look! His plate is almost empty! Aurora feels a lot better and they carry on with their burnt dinner. They talk about their upcoming wedding for the rest of the evening.

19 Good Night Kiss

Brandon has to go back to his home at the university as he has an exam to give early the next day. Aurora has to get up early the next day too. Her easel and paints are already prepared — she wants to paint the break of dawn! She always feels more creative during morning painting. At midnight, they exchange good night kisses.

20 Time for Bed

Time for bed! Aurora steps into her bedroom, changes into her night clothes and tucks herself in. It’s been a long day. She feels fulfilled — she learned a new recipe, caught up with old friends, did well at work, had dinner with Brandon. She’s also tired and so she shuts the lights off and drifts off to dreamland…

21 Dreaming of Cows

… where she dreams of cows? Aurora is dreaming of a college mascot, which lead to milking cows, which lead to dairy, which lead to eggs, which lead to her dreaming of what she’ll have for breakfast the next day. Sweet dreams, Aurora!

Note: Aurora has come a long way since this day in her life! She and Prof. Brandon Carr married in her backyard. Her wedding was attended by all her close friends. She and Brandon have moved to a bigger house, also within Pleasantview. Prof. Brandon Carr no longer teaches at the Académie Le Tour. He now writes novels for a living. Aurora has been promoted twice since this day — she is now a Restaurateur. The couple also have a toddler named Alfonso and another little one on the way. Things are going great in Brandon and Aurora’s household! And it looks like things are about to change some more. Little Alfonso has been asking for a pet St. Bernard. It looks like he’s going to get that for his next birthday. 😉

    I miss playing with The Sims! My computer could not support the newest version (okay, maybe it could but I don’t think I’d have patience for it because it would be too darn slow), so I used to play with the old one. But I lost my CD installer for that so now I can’t play it. :( Oh well. ^^;

Wow, Aurora is so modern! By the way, I especially loved the scene where she greets him. It’s almost as if she’s attacking him! Hahaha.

Oh my, this entry made me want to re-install Sims 2! Ang sweet naman ni Brandon, I’m glad they ended up together! And I’m intrigued by Aurora’s pork chop w/ chopped apples, do you think she can share the recipe with us sometime? I guess imagination is what separates the professional cooks from novices like me :)

My Sims families are always named after myself and my family, or after characters from books or TV shows – the cast of Friends, or Archie and his Riverdale pals 😛
