Almond Coco Joy Dive Bar at Sebastian’s: Perfect for coconut lovers

by

Thick coconut ice cream with chewy coconut flakes. Milk chocolate with almond slivers. Gah. This is definitely a really good summer snack. Presenting: the Almond Coco Joy Dive Bar from Sebastian’s Ice Cream.

Almond Joy dive bar from Sebastian's. Definitely for coconut lovers.
A bite of summer.

This dive bar was inspired by the American candy bar Almond Joy, a product of Hershey’s. Almond Joy is one of my least favorite candy bars to be frank. I don’t like the taste of coconut mixed with a chocolate bar. This ice cream version of Sebastian’s definitely gave me a change of heart. I may not reach for the candy bar, but I definitely will be reaching for this dive bar!

What made this dessert even sweeter was that I won this dive bar! WOOHOO! Sebastian’s ran a contest on its Facebook page last week, asking fans to guess what the next dive bar flavor could be. The only clue was that it’s based on an American candy bar. I threw in Almond Joy into the pot of guesses because (a) I had recently seen an ice cream version of it on one of my fave shows ever Top Chef, and (b) aside from iced buko and buko sorbet, there hasn’t been a big coconut ice cream launch recently. Yey! This is my third guess-the-flavor win.

My toddler liked the Almond Coco Joy dive bar too! He hates anything white (except white rice) so watching him go back for seconds and thirds for a bite of the coconut ice cream was cute. While I snacked on my dive bar, the rest of my family dived in to other Sebastian’s offerings.

Mangga't Suman. Champorado. Flowers & Chocolate. Almond Joy snack bar. Which ice cream do you want to try? They're so goooood! Sebastian's is love.
Can you tell which ice cream the toddler liked best?

The pink and brown ice cream is Flowers and Chocolate. It’s rose ice cream made from rose jam (crushed rose petals in sugar syrup). It’s mixed with bittersweet chocolate. If you like your desserts flower-flavored, you’ll definitely enjoy this.

The yellow and white ice cream is Mangga’t Suman, one of my all-time Sebastian’s favorites. Read more about it here.

The brown ice cream is Champorado, my Mom’s favorite. This was Sebastian’s very first kakanin ice cream. It’s made from creamy tsokolate ice cream and has lots of malagkit rice. This is suuuuuuper good and really does taste like champorado. Who says you should only enjoy champorado when it’s raining?

I love Sebastian’s Ice Cream! And I love that I’ve won their guess-the-flavor contest three times already! Universe, what are you trying to tell me? 😉
