Weekend Soiree #46: A game of comment interaction

by

The game is easy! I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it! šŸ˜‰

To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is BIRTHDAYS, all questions should relate to that topic. What was the theme of your most recent birthday party? If you were to spend your birthday alone, what would you do? As much as possible, letā€™s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are also welcome to play more than once.

Let’s listen to the chirping of the birds atop a mountain for our 46th weekend soiree.

The theme: NATURE

The question: How green is your thumb? šŸ˜‰

Not green at all. A friend gave me a fortune plant. It died after a week, was not very lucky to get me as owner.

What steps are you taking to protect the environment?

I’m conscious of the electricity, water and other things I use. I recycle. I don’t drive. (Hubby does, but I don’t.) We reuse plastic sandwich bags.

What is your favourite act of nature?

Answer: My favorite act of nature would have to be thunderstorms in the daytime during the summer. The coolest thing happened last year when we had thunder and lightening during a blizzard (I live in NE Ohio so we never know what to expect!)

Question: Have you reduced the amount of plastic you use? i.e. use your own water bottle, cloth grocery bags, etc.

A: oh definitely! i even turn those C2 1-Litre PET bottles into plant pots! :) just little project of mine. but when they grow a bit, i still stick to clay pots instead of those you see at SM. i know they look pretty but i guess i’m too much of an earth and mud person. šŸ˜€

and i bring my baunan at work. nice of Ateneo to have this BYOB (Bring Your Own Baunan) thing going on. so no need for plastic utensils and styro plates! :)

I’m happy when it rains. Especially now that I’m in a country which is rain deprived. It rained here last Sunday and I ‘played’ with the raindrops that got me really sicked.

My fave song related to nature is ‘What A Wonderful World’. What about you?

Well, I guess you could count paramore’s song, “when it rains”, as a nature loving song. Yeah, I know way emo, and not really nature loving, but the title’s about nature.

Question: How often do you do gardening, cause I only do it to get paid 80 pesos?

A: tough question, like choosing between cake and ice cream. i like them both equally. i love the beach because i love water and sun and sand. i love the mountains for its coolness and being surrounded by all things green.

I think there are lots of good eco-tourism projects. Take for example whale watching. It generates money for the people in that area and at the same time protects the whales from being hunted for meat.

Q: Do you practice recycling in your area?

yes, we put recyclables in separate containers. the city also issued separate bins for regular trash and recyclables (color coded) and upon pick up they go to their separate destinations.
