It is just way too hot these days. Ang init, init, init, init, init!!! Here’s a really refreshing snack that can make the heat more bearable:
Get a watermelon. Slice the watermelon into bite-sized squares. Place them in a bowl and freeze overnight. When you’re feeling hot the next day, take a piece and be refreshed! The juices of the watermelon are locked in and some ice would have formed within each piece. It’s like a watermelon popsicle.
Because the watermelon pieces are frozen, you can insert popsicle sticks or use a fork to eat them. What I also do is I break off a small piece of a watermelon cube and let it settle in my mouth. Then I suck on the watermelon juices and feel the ice melting on my tongue.
While you can try this with other fruits, I think this works best with watermelon because it’s 92% water. Don’t we need a lot of that this summer! You can serve frozen watermelon balls as a cute dessert too by using a melon baller.
It’s refreshing and healthy. How could you go wrong with that? Frozen watermelon. Just one little way to keep us hydrated and sane during this intense summer season.
