Twilight Talk: Posters, Trailers and Stories

by

The passion a lot of readers have for Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series is amazing. While I’m totally hooked on the books and have daydreamed of visiting Forks, Washington to get a glimpse of Bella’s hometown, these fans’ love for the series is just MASSIVE.

Would you like to see a movie poster of Twilight? While the movie‘s official poster is similar to the book cover, check out these posters made by two very talented Twilight fans:

Aren’t they excellent posters? They should pitch those ideas to the movie’s marketing team!

Let’s talk about Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen. Look at those topaz eyes. Look at those chiseled features. Beautiful. The more I gaze at him, the more he becomes Edward Cullen. I was re-reading some bits of New Moon last night, and he did seem to fit Edward. Really good choice! And according to fellow blogger Kitty, Robert Pattinson is a skilled guitar and keyboards player. *jaw hits floor* Edward is an accomplished pianist, isn’t he? *swoons* It would be TOTALLY AWESOME if Robert Pattinson would play Bella’s song the way Edward did in the book. *sighs*

As for Kristen Stewart as Isabella Swan, I haven’t seen a movie of hers yet so I couldn’t imagine her playing Bella while I read the book last night. BUT I think she has the look down pat and that she’ll make a great Bella because of her impressive filmography. I’ve seen some clips of her previous movies in YouTube and she’s got that angsty, vulnerable yet strong vibe that Bella emanates.

And speaking of YouTube, there are awesome Twilight fan-made trailers online. These two are pretty good:

And finally, if you’re into fan fiction, a LOT of Twilight fans have gone ahead and penned their own versions of what happens post-Eclipse and what should have happened between Jacob & Bella (or Edward & Bella). There are a lot of brilliant writers creating their own Twilight worlds.

If you’re on Team Jacob, I suggest you visit the livejournal community Sort of Beautiful. A lot of fantastic fiction there, especially the ones written by anythingbutgrey, deadduck008 and fifthofdecember.

If you’d like to see what could happen to other characters (e.g. Quil and Claire, Bella as a vampire, Edward/Rosalie spins, and lots more!), check out the Twilight archives at FanFiction.net, especially the ones written by Alice laughed. Make sure to read “Waiting for Dawn,” her take on the upcoming Breaking Dawn.

All these fans are amazing! Keep the Twilight passion flowing you guys!

Just found out that my daughter has the book by Stephanie Meyer. She absolutely loves it. She’s not yet done with the book though. :-)

Cool! Another Twilight fan, yey. We’ll get along. 😀
