The Bloghopping Moleskine Giveaway starts here!

by

We’re kicking off the Bloghopping Moleskine Giveaway right here at Wifely Steps! Come do the dance of joy with me! :) Beginning today, Avalon.ph and a blog team up to give away one Moleskine journal every week. And so the fun is just starting, notebook lovers! As I’ve written in a previous post, I LOVE Moleskine. So what better way to share the Moleskine love than to give a journal away? Wee! Thanks to Avalon.ph, I can share the love with you!

moleskinegiveaway

First, let me introduce you to Avalon.ph. Avalon.ph is a Philippine-based online shopping site which features Moleskine Notebooks and specialty books — signed copies, hard-to-find and out-of-print titles. Prepare to drool: Signed books by Jeanette Winterson, Nick Hornby, Anthony Bourdain, Umberto Eco, etc. Rare and limited books like Neil Gaiman’s “Snow, Glass, Apples” (signed, 1 of 5000 copies only), “The Last Unicorn” (hardbound, 1 of 1000 copies only), “Kitchen” (first edition), and much more. It’s a great site for booklovers. And of course, there are the Moleskine journals. Drool, drool.

The mechanics of the Moleskine Giveaway will differ from blog to blog. So here are the mechanics for the Avalon.ph and Wifely Steps Moleskine Giveaway :)

1. Answer this question:

What would you write in your Moleskine?

— Answering in the comments section of this entry gives you 1 point.
— Answering in your blog with a link back to this post gives you 2 points. If you’re answering the question in your blog, be sure to leave a comment here leading to your blog post so I can count you in.
Showing what you would write in your Moleskine gives you an extra 1 point. ๐Ÿ˜‰

2. The contest will run from Oct. 22 until Oct. 28, 2008, 11.59 pm, Manila time. I will then use a Randomizer to determine who the winner is. So for example, if a participant blogs his entry and shows us what’d he write in his Moleskine, his name will be entered into the raffle three times. More chances of winning! I will announce the winner within Oct. 29, Wednesday, and share at what blog the next contest will be held. There will only be ONE winner.

3. The contest is open only to those with Philippine-based addresses.

And oooh, what will you be winning from the Wifely Steps leg of the contest? This baby right here:

It’s great to see that this keyboard-centric lifestyle on the net hasn’t affected you–you have such beautiful writing, Toni! Dare I show what I would write in what could be my first Moleskine ever? :-)

Ah, Moleskin… *love* I read about Moleskin through a friend’s blog, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. But I never got to buy one for myself because, honestly, I am not used to buying stuff for myself. I’m the ultimate cheapskate when it comes to buying stuff for me.

If I do get a Moleskin, I would lovingly write in it my daily reflections. I subscribe to Gospel readings and often read the Bible to find out what God has in store for me today. I believe that the best place to keep my thoughts about God’s Word and my prayers, should be in something beautiful and something that I would definitely hold dear. A Moleskin.

On my Moleskine, i write all of my deliciously devious thoughts, my peculiarly painstaking plans and today’s terrible to-do list.

As a college student, I would write in the Moleskine Notebook the lessons we’re going to learn. I would write from the most important to lest important ideas.

Another, I would write in that notebook, my poems, stories, songs, experiences, etc. Oh, that’s all…

Thanks, hope I’m gonna win that sweet notebook.

Hey. Nice handwriting. I envy you. Maybe if I get that calligraphy writing set that I’ve had my eye on, I could improve mine and at least make it legible. Hmm… I guess that could be another thing that I could do if I win a moleskine notebook… practice writing things down on paper again. ;p

lol. If I would right in my own moleskine, I would of course, right about my life from time to time. I will not address it as “dear diary or what”. More of like Jean Webster’s Daddy Long Legs type. And when I finish it, It would look like a novel or autobiography. =P

    this is my entry:

i’d turn my moleskin into a book diary!

a bookclub buddy introduced me to the concept a while back. i love to read and i try to post my impressions about a book i have just read on my blog. but i’m so busy with work that i only manage to blog once in a while.

by the time i manage to blog though, much of my impressions have been lost to the vagaries of memory.

having a moleskin notebook handy might help me with this dilemma. i could immediately jot down my thoughts on it whenever a chapter, a character, a dialogue strikes me with ire or delight.

who knows, i may yet discover that i’m a better book diarist than i am a book blogger.

hello…i’d like to join your contest but first, your handwriting is enviable…lovely!

now, what would i write in my moleskin? well, i write dates and events to remember. also, i write the things i did (not will do) each day. it makes me feel good that at the end of the day, i get to summarize what has happened to me: the things i did, the people i met, the items i bought, the sights i enjoyed, the food i tasted and more related stuff. in a word, it’s all about me and how each day of my life turned out.

many thanks and good luck to all entrants! :)

Here’s an excerpt from my blog: “And that, my fellow prose lovers, simply proves that your passion for writing is directly connected to your relationship with the instruments you write with. Now imagine what a Moleskine would do to your writing habits. You wouldn’t even need an inspiration anymore, the notebook itself would already be your muse. I can already picture the pages I would fill with pensive thoughts, happy thoughts, angry thoughts… thoughts, and not lists. I might even take up sketching again.”

I love writing even if I spend too much time infront of the computer and boy! am I happy seeing this contest. I would definitely love a moleskine and I would not mind having more:D. Anyway, my first moleskine would contain my daily journal. I have been keeping a journal for years since when I was in high school and then, I stopped. Cold turkey. And I would like to start again and the good way to do it is having a moleskine! I will be posting this in my blog too. Check it out there:)

I’m going for three points, to win this for my wife, so:

    (1) I use the Moleskine for lists of all kinds. The list is, for some reason, the most common format for my scribbles.

    (2) I have a longer answer on the LiveJournal entry at http://eldritch00.livejournal.com/139158.html .

    (3) That entry also contains a sample picture of a couple of pages from my active Moleskine, showing what I do with it.

Hi Toni! Here’s my photo finish entry:

What do I right in my moleskin? Simple: letters to my son, Haligilet.

I will write and write to to my son, to remind him of the blessings he has received each day of his life, and how he, is equally a blessing in ours. I will write and write each day. So that when I, mole and all, am gone, my son still has a piece of me in my moleskin.

this is such perfect timing since i am starting a new chapter in my life.

-i would be writing everything that would happen on our big day and the days leading to it. i know that on the day itself everything is going to happen so fast and before i know it, the day will be over so it would be nice to write every detail of what happened and my thoughts for that day.

hello there.. I want one too hehe..

If there’s anything i’d like to write in my moleskine, it will be my endless jotting down of ideas and inspirations; drawing frames and stuff, making visual pegs (I love photography and it helps that I jot down new ideas as I see them.)

What’s funny in my situation is that I have a reporter’s notebook of sorts, a spiral one. and it is a little rundown, and let’s just say it has been looking sad waiting to be replaced. My notebook and me has been through a lot and it’s time to retire my old one for a new moleskine ๐Ÿ˜€ If I don’t win here, I might just buy one for necessity hehe (but getting one for free is always nice :D)

    so i guess that’s it. Hope I win wee…
