Story time and Creativity

The guy on the right… what’s his story?

~*~*~*~*~*~

Now about creativity…

Stories are a great way to exercise your creativity and imagination. Kick off your weekend by letting those creative juices flow! I’ve compiled some links you may want to check out. They are either caption games or story-telling games. Both are fantastic ways to channel those creative energies so get started on them now!

Jerome’s Perception Exercise. He shows you pictures of people. Tell him their stories.

Joey’s “What’s he thinking?”. A little kid in a yellow jacket props his feet up on a bus. What’s on his mind?

Ganns asks you to give his son Nathan’s picture a caption. Let’s see if Nathan will fill in his father’s shoes…

Michele’s Caption Contest. Get an imaginary trophy if you win! It’s her 56th one so you may want to go through her archives to check out the past contests.

And there’s a lot more on your search engine of choice. Remember, creativity isn’t solely defined by how well you draw or how beautiful your poem is. Creativity is your ability to invent, to express yourself in an original way, to know the power of your imagination, to spot the potential in the most boring of things and to find solutions from various perspectives. Whew. That’s a lot of definitions. But if I could sum it all up, it’s just this:

Creativity is exploding the power of your imagination.

We are all creative. We just explode in different ways!

Happy weekend!

    THE BLOG IMPROVEMENT PROJECT (B.I.P.)

Whether it’s for digital journaling, community building, or information sharing, blogs are here to stay, and the Internet is better for it. The Blog Improvement Project (B.I.P.) is designed to help – dare I say it – the blogosphere, get better through encouragement and constructive feedback. The rules are simple:

    1. Choose a friend’s weblog and copy and paste this entire entry. For numbers 2-4 below, change your entries as necessary.

    2. Indicate what is good about his/her blog:
REGULARLY UPDATED, VARIED CONTENT. I ESPECIALLY LIKE THE PHOTO CAPTION CONTEST AND THE RECIPES! SARAP! :)

    3. Give constructive feedback on how you think his/her blog could be better:
WRITE MORE POETRY BECAUSE SHE’S GOOD AT IT!

    4. Indicate where you are in the chain by adding +1 to this number: 2

    5. If you’ve received this already, write back to whoever gave it to you so he/she could send it to someone else….even a stranger’s blog. Remember to send it to ONLY ONE BLOG.

    6. If your blog is # 10 or 100 or 1,000 or 10,000 or 100,000 or 1,000,000, or 10,000,000 and so on – in the chain (see #4 above), then drop a quick comment in the blog that started the B.I.P. – http://blogimprovementproject.wordpress.com. You can drop in and make a comment anytime, too.

    7. (OPTIONAL). Do #’s 2 and 3 above for the person who sent this to you.

    Safety, First and Foremost

First Soldier: …and they call this darn thing SAFETY PIN? You’d think if it works OK on baby diapers it
should work on this grenade too. How did I lose the original? Darn, this thing is slippery…oops….

    2nd Soldier (facing the First): What now…? I hope he’s not doing what I think he’s doing…

3rd Soldier (also facing First Soldier):No…..no…..NOOOO!
