Here’s one of my favorite things this year: a laptop bag. Let me explain to you why this is a big thing for me! First of all, I’m not a bagaholic. I use the same bag week after week after week. I don’t change bags to match what I wear for the day. Second, I didn’t use to care how I carried my laptop. My laptop came in a black, rectangular bag with a black strap, and that was fine with me. Isn’t that what laptop bags are supposed to look like anyway?
Thanks to my creative friend Via Perlas, the beauty and brains behind Tech Tote, I’ve had a change of heart. C’mon, tell me who wouldn’t give this cute bag a second look:
When I first received it, I let out a little squeal of delight. My first thought was, “It’s soooooooooo cute!” Chocolate brown and yellow are two of my favorite colors so that squeal was a little louder than I had intended it to be.
Second thought was, “It doesn’t look like a laptop bag!” And that second thought is what hooked me! It’s not black or rectangular or boring… it’s stylish, cute, AND functional. I had a feeling my laptop would be very happy.
The bag comes with a detachable laptop sleeve. I love how it hugs my 15″ laptop. I just slide it into the padded sleeve, pop it in the bag and voila.
And doesn’t that bright yellow color just makes you smile? Admit it, the color is making you cheery.
If you’re a fan of compartments, then this bag will make you even cheerier. There are lots of pockets. Great for putting everything in its proper place. I carry a lot of stuff with me during meetings — a notebook, pens and pencils, USB drives, documents, laptop connections, a bagel… they’d all fit into this pretty bag.
Even the bag’s color theme is making me hungry. Lemon Torte. Mmmmm. Reminds me of a cheesecake with a chocolate graham crust. Two other color themes that are plenty yummy are Pink Mallow and Tutti Frutti. Pink Mallow looks perfect for budding ballerinas who like to munch on chocolate marshmallows during breaks, and Tutti Frutti reminds me of Fruitella strawberry and grape. Remember Fruitella?
There are more bag colors that I will describe simply as DELICIOUS. If these don’t provoke you to dump that boring, black rectangular black laptop bag, I don’t know what will!
You can check out other Tech Tote designs at their website. These stylish and functional totes are available at all branches of Powerbooks
http://www.powerbooks.com.ph and Ynzal Marketing at #25 Scout Rallos Quezon City. Want to know another reason why this laptop bag is one of my favorite things? It costs only PhP 910.00.
Tech Tote should have the tagline “I can’t believe it’s a laptop bag!” And you know what? I like it so much I will even use it as a bag for my writing tools — books, pens and pencils, journals, sketch pad and a bagel. Yes, I think they can all fit in there. My laptop isn’t the jealous type, so she can share the bag with my writing buddies.

March 30, 2009 at 6:51 pm (15 years ago)Love, love the color of your bag! During weekdays I’m using the Samsonite (chica) backpack. While I have the shoulder-laptop-bag on weekends, whenever necessary. My main consideration when picking out a laptop bag (incidentally I love to change laptop bags) is that it should not be obvious that I’m carrying a laptop. Well, must be simple yet fashionable, too.

January 28, 2010 at 6:16 pm (14 years ago)Wow, that is one cute bag. But I prefer something that can be slung across the shoulder like a messenger bag because that looks casual, yet smart! I bought this messenger style laptop bag from Briggs and Riley and I absolutely adore it. It is perfect for a business appointment as well as a casual meeting. The computer sleeve is detachable and the slip pockets ideal for keeping important documents. Besides, it has a padded pocket that I use to keep my cell-phone and side pockets for gizmos like a PDA or an MP3 player. The shoulder strap of the bag comes with a removable shoulder pad that makes carrying the bag much easier.

January 7, 2011 at 8:44 pm (13 years ago)This bag is good for keeping aΒ laptop and a few accessories together. The bag has four pockets, one for the laptop, one zippered pocket on the side sufficient for holding a few papers, and two more beneath the handles that can hold a few small things each.
