Just some random notes

Can you believe December starts in just a few days? Crazy. Christmastime is here! Mama has started playing songs about Santa and that red-nosed reindeer on the piano, we’ve started putting up our tree, I’m starting on my Christmas list. Are you ready for Christmas?

Uncle Tim told me, “Toni, I read your blog and you write a lot about food [from restaurants]. I wonder if you still cook.” Ah, cooking. I’ve misplaced my cooking mojo and haven’t had the energy to go looking for it. I think I’m also enjoying writing about restaurant food because I can get out of the house more often now! The baby’s growing and he’s becoming easier to care for as well when we dine out. Any restaurant recos?

My brother-in-law got married last weekend. Awesomeness. It’s fascinating how people choose who to spend with for the rest of their lives. I want to go ask couples “What was that one thing that made you decide you want to spend the rest of your life with your partner?” I don’t want to pry but that would make for an interesting story. If you’re comfortable replying to that question, let me know in the comments section what your answer is.

Speaking of weddings, Prince William and Kate Middleton! Gah! I can’t wait to see what her gown looks like.

More on weddings, did you catch the latest episode of GLEE? Gush gush. Teary-eyed moments galore. I won’t spoil it for you, no worries. This is my second favorite episode this season, the first being Duets.

What are you thankful for? To all my family and friends in the U.S., happy thanksgiving! How I wish I could taste some sweet potato pie, pumpkin pie and good ol’ roast turkey with stuffing. Eat a serving of all that for me please? And an extra serving of pumpkin pie.

This week marks my second month of not drinking softdrinks! YES! I almost succumbed to a 7-Up last weekend but kept strong. I like that avoiding softdrinks helps me avoid junkfood (potato chips, nachos, etc.) too. I thought I’d miss a tall glass of ice cold Coke by now but surprisingly, I don’t! Way to go, body.
