You know what would be good for breakfast right now? Pancakes. Fluffy pancakes with melted butter, some syrup, fruits. I’m in a pancake state of mind.

I’m a terrible pancake maker. All my pancakes are lopsided, slightly burnt, sad-looking circles. I worry about the time Timmy will ask me to make him pancakes and all I’d give him are pancakes with weird shapes. Hey, maybe I can tell him they’re abstract art, and that not all pancakes are round.
Where does one get REALLY good pancakes in Manila? I’ve tried Flapjacks, and was quite happy. I like my pancakes fluffy. Pancake House is another obvious place to get these breakfast treats but I’m finding that restaurant way too overpriced nowadays. Any recommendations?

July 5, 2010 at 9:24 am (14 years ago)Hi! My kiddos love pancakes too so I make it their saturday breakfast treat. Try to do this next time you make pancakes…instead of using one egg, use 2. Separate the yolks from the white. Beat the white until it forms hard peaks. Blend the yolks with the pancake mix. Instead of water, use milk on your mix. When everything is blended well, fold in the egg whites. When the pancake is already on the pan/griddle, put a tiny slice of butter before turning it over to cook the other side. Hope this helps.
And yup, I agree with you. Pancake House is overpriced.
