Datu Puti Pinoykurat Yumminess

This vinegar has become a table staple in our home.

Datu Puti Pinoykurat Deliciousness

My husband and I enjoy spicy food. Since not everyone in the household likes lots of spice, one way to spice up a dish is through condiments. We enjoy squashing a piece of siling labuyo in a small bowl then smothering it with either soy sauce, patis (fish sauce) or vinegar. Gah, that’s so good.

What we like about this brand is that the spices are already mashed and blended into the vinegar, so there’s more kick and spice. We use it as a dip every time there’s fried food at home. We love the liveliness of this Datu Puti Pinoykurat!

I was told it’s good as a marinade too. I’ll have to try that! Ah, the possibilities when you have a really good product in your hands!

What are your table staples? Calamansi, toyo, ketchup? Share, share!

We bought the original Suka Pinakurat on a trip to Cebu after a friend who grew up in Mindanao raved about it on her blog. (I guess this Datu Puti version was “inspired” by that?) Love it!!! It’s perfect with anything grilled or fried — we made fried tilapia and chicken bbq last week and used it as a dip.

The original of this is Sukang Pinakurat. It’s from Iligan city in Mindanao. In a way, I’m saddened because a big corp like Datu Puti has “copied” the idea….

Yes, I think the original comes from the South. For those who can’t get the original though, like me, I begin to have an appreciation for it via Datu Puti. :)

Wow I wish we had that here. I’ll keep a lookout when it comes out.

My sauce staples include: banana ketchup, patis, suka and toyo. I also like Maggi seasoning.

Love tabasco over rice. I do have a bottle of vinegar with siling labuyo in the cupboard – don’t use it much. What we used a lot of is the hot chili sauce you get from chinese restos, when i go for take out i ask for extra hot chili sauce. That sauce is so good with everything. We put it in nilaga, sinigang and tinola and almost anything.

This is clearly “copied” from Pinakurat from Iligan City (check http://www.sukapinakurat.com – on where to buy..there’s even a list of stores where it’s available in US, Australia, Europe, and of course a nationwide list of stores here in the Philippines)..

We’re never out of Pinakurat in the house.. it’s our standard condiment here and of course Maggi Savor (any flavor)

Please don’t be fooled by the Datu Puti Pinoy Kurat to The Original Suka Pinakurat from Iligan City. They copied it. In fact there having a legal battle with it. Please check the website of Green Gold Gourmet Foods Inc. http://www.sukapinakurat.com

Don’t support the pirated one! Go for the original!
