Caption Game!

And… it’s back! I missed playing this game. I found a whole bunch of pictures just perfect for our little game so this kind of post will happen more regularly. C’mon, cheer with me now. Yey!

Before I show you the pic, let’s chit-chat a little bit. Here, have a cup of coffee (sorry, I just got that from the vendo; I can’t make a decent cup!). Have you been reading any good books lately? I haven’t. When I hit home, I play “What Word” on my husband’s Palm Pilot or do crossword puzzles. I guess I do a lot of reading at work that when I get home, I don’t want to read anymore! But do let me know if you have any recommendations. By the way, if you read Sweet Valley back then, I wrote a little something about it here. Just a little cuckoo moment of what-if’s.

How about good music? Any recommendations? Let me know. I’ve been listening to a lot of Alice Peacock on Pandora. Her voice is so soothing. And because Zach Braff my love recommended Lori McKenna, I’ve been listening to her too.

And movies? Recommend good ones please! The last I saw was “Final Destination 3” and I had my eyes closed for most of the movie. I’m not a big fan of thrillers so I didn’t like it much. I just went because of my “just say yes” more resolution but after that, I’ve resolved that there is no fun in torturing myself. I’m a scaredy cat! I admit it!

I’m looking forward to your recommendations! Now on to the game!

if you want a funny – and i mean, FUNNY – book to read, try one of bill bryson’s books. i read ‘a walk in the woods’ and also ‘notes from a small island’ and they are just hilarious! they are true accounts of his travels, the first while he’s hiking the apalachian trail and the second one about his travels in england. i’m currently reading ‘in a sunburned country’ in preparation of my long-overdue trip to australia. his books make you laugh out loud – sometimes you do this while reading in a public place and everyone just looks at you like you’re crazy.

if you want a more somber book, you may want to secure a copy of the ‘autobiography of a geisha’ by sayo masuda. no, it’s not the ‘memoirs of a geisha’… the book by masuda paints a different picture of what a hotspring-geisha’s life is like. it’s a meaner world for them and masuda’s simple way of writing (not by choice, she was illiterate for most part of her life…) just makes you go through the emotions with her. this is her account of her life as a geisha.

let me know which ones you read, ok?

Hi Toni! You asked, “Have you been reading any good books lately?” I found a second-hand copy of “The Horse Whisperer” by Nicholas Evans and I loved it! Medyo inis lang ako sa ending kasi it was a convenient way to end the book. Sana man lang nag-isip sya ng ibang ending. I haven’t seen the movie, though, but I heard it has a different ending. Have you seen it?

Caption game: (Nagmumukmuk) Bahala ka, hindi ako lalabas dito hangga’t hindi ka mag-sorry!

Barbara: I do remember PS I Love You! Hehe… Di ba may continuation yon? I also loved the Sweet Dreams book – The Summer Jenny Fell In Love. :)

i’d save up my allowance to buy a sweet valley every week! 😛

i still have ALL of them (under my desk at my parents home in manila), that is if they haven’t thrown it yet…

getting rid of it was never an option since hard-earned allowance was used to buy each and every one of it….bwahahahahahahahahaha 😀

i even have a map of sweet valley which my dad bought in the US!

I”m not sure if you’re a fan of Hayao Miyazaki but I just read the book version of Howl’s Moving Castle and I enjoyed it maski na for young adults. It answered a lot of questions from the movie. Also if you’re a jazz fan, I recommend the soundtrack for Good Night and Good Luck.
