Brains for Breakfast

by

A typical morning would be this: Wake up to feed the baby. Go back to sleep. Wake up to pesky alarm. Hit snooze. Hit snooze. Hit snooze. Wake up in a panic. Take a quick shower. Feed the baby. Zoom to work. Have unhealthy breakfast from fastfood.

It’s tiring. Yeah sure I get an extra hour of sleep from all the snooze button hits, but the morning frenzy that follows is exhausting.

Until today, when zombies invaded the front yard.

This morning went like this: Wake up to feed the baby. NOT go back to sleep. Instead, play Plants vs. Zombies.

Pump milk while playing. When done, take a shower. Feed the baby. Have breakfast. Go to work.

The extra hour I used hitting the snooze button, I used to play this game instead. Not only did I wake up little by little (zombie by zombie!), I got to pump an extra cup of milk for the baby too. Once the pumping was done, I didn’t want to go back to sleep anymore. I had extra time on my hands to take a longer shower and eat breakfast. On a plate. HOT. Not breakfast take-out from a fastfood. Yay!

Let’s try this tomorrow again. It’s a good way to ease into a cold and sleepy morning. And what a perfect excuse reason to play Plants vs. Zombies! Bring on those Michael Jackson zombies. Mommy’s wide awake now. *prepares her cherry bombs*

Hi Toni! This is such a great way to start your day! My problem is…if I like a game too much, I end up playing with it longer than I should have then I’ll still end up in a panicked frenzy to get ready for work! LOL
