A Sunday Meme: Let’s Eat!

I made this meme up because I was hungry. Feel free to answer the questions too! Let me know if you’re doing this meme so I could read your entry too. (Cross-posted a little bit from LJ)

1. Favorite Comfort Food
Sinigang na Baboy always comforts me. If that’s not available, there’s always lightly buttered microwavable popcorn!!! Ano bang brand yon? Act II? O Act I? Basta may Act.

2. Favorite Breakfast Meal
Fried garlic rice, fried tuyo, sunny side-up egg, tomatoes and patis or tomatoes and toyo on the side. OJ to drink. Tapos kasama ko pamilya kong kumakain. Sarap.

3. Favorite Lunch Meal
Sinigang na Baboy and brown rice. Or Adobong Manok at Baboy. Yun tipong nagfe-flake off na yun meat from the bones tapos may liver spread yun adobo sauce. Yum. Tapos andyan si Mama sa tabi ko chumichika. Tapos dessert namin ripe mango. Mmmmmm.

4, Favorite Dinner Meal
Insalata Sara at Grappa’s — dark greens, green and black olives, sun-dried tomatoes, thinly shaved slices of prosciutto and parmesan cheese, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. Hell yeah!!! Tapos may kasamang red wine. Ultimate favorite meal EVERRRRRRRRRR. Kahit araw-araw ko ‘yan kainin masaya ako.

5. Favorite Dessert
Anything my sister bakes. And the truffle ice cream my best friend and I shared during one of our dinner dates. Heaven.

6. Favorite Cake
For homemade cakes, classic chocolate cake with homemade icing, and candy confetti sprinkles. Yum. My sister bakes the best of that kind. For store-bought cakes, my favorite would be Red Ribbon’s Mango Cake.

7. Favorite Pasta
Angel hair with a simple tomato-basil sauce. Classic, simple, but still rich in flavor.

8. Favorite Dish That Others Find Weird
Milo powder mixed with rice.

9. Favorite Fruits That You Haven’t Eaten In A While
Strawberries.

10. Favorite Junkfood
Is popcorn junkfood? Hindi diba? So my favorite junkfood would be Granny Goose Tortilla Chips.

11. Favorite TV Show Related to Food (Cooking show, Travel show with food, etc.)
Rachael Ray’s 30-Minute Meals. But since I don’t have Lifestyle Network na, I like Jamie Oliver’s shows. Pwedeng isa pa? Barefoot Contessa.

12. Favorite Pastries
Polvoron. Cream Puffs. Mmmmmmm.

13. Favorite Way to Eat Potatoes
I’d like them mashed please, with a pat of butter on top.

14. Favorite Ice Cream
Magnolia Rocky Road.

15. Favorite Alcoholic Drink When You Really Really Really Want to Party
Red Horse. Red wine.

16. Favorite Bar Chow
Beef Salpicao.

17. Favorite Chicken Dish
The buttered chicken Indian dish… Chicken Masala ata. Hindi ko maalala.

18. Favorite Place to Eat with Your Sweetheart or Your Best Friend (Choose 1)
I’ll choose both, bakit ba. Ako naman gumawa ng meme na ito, hehehe. Dinner table at home with H. Grappa’s with my best friend.

Around the kitchen island in my parents’ home.

    Oh what a yummy meme!!! again, what a drool-worthy post you got here! here’s mine (and it’s hard to pick just one!)

    1. Favorite Comfort Food: my mom’s pork sinigang is always up there in my book. followed closely by a big steaming bowl of vietnamese beef pho or my mom’s bulalo.

    2. Favorite Breakfast Meal: spam-si-log! or in the alternative, a starbuck’s mocha with a toasted almond croissant.

    3. Favorite Lunch Meal: pork sinigang again; or a nice hearty meal from the polish lady across the street from where i work. massaman chicken curry is good too from your local thai joint.

    4, Favorite Dinner Meal: the diver sea scallops from aquagrill (NYC) or home-cooked kalbi or karekare at my mom’s house.

    5. Favorite Dessert: hot fudge sundaes, the chocolate tasting plate from aquagrill, a cupcake from billy’s bakery or a slice of icebox cake from magnolia bakery

    6. Favorite Cake: chocolate mousse cake

    7. Favorite Pasta: i’ll go chain-resto on this one: olive garden’s chicken scampi or pasta i had in ‘la rupe tarpea’ in rome. yuuuummmm!

    8. Favorite Dish That Others Find Weird: hm…not sure.

    9. Favorite Fruits That You Haven’t Eaten In A While: mangoes

    10. Favorite Junkfood: mcdonald’s apple pies or sundaes; chicharron

    11. Favorite TV Show Related to Food (Cooking show, Travel show with food, etc.)
    everyday italian, barefoot contessa, or good eats.

    12. Favorite Pastries
    freshly made chocolate croissants from the hungarian pasty shop (nyc) or c’est cie ces la (uhm, spelling not sure, again in NYC).

    13. Favorite Way to Eat Potatoes
    don’t really have a fave

    14. Favorite Ice Cream: coldstone creamery’s mud pie mojo; baskin robbin’s jamoca almond fudge; coffee; and godiva’s hazelnut

    15. Favorite Alcoholic Drink When You Really Really Really Want to Party: mojitos! shots of SoCo and lime and great as well.

    16. Favorite Bar Chow: sisig if i’m in the philippines. over here, we’re lucky enough to get peanuts!

    18. Favorite Place to Eat with Your Sweetheart or Your Best Friend (Choose 1): hm…the hubs and i don’t really have a fave place to eat so i’ll pick aquagrill w/ my gal pals

    kainggit ka talaga sis…all that food and you don’t grow an inch!!! haaayy!

    dito ko na lang sagutin ha…gusto ko pa i-extend lunch break ko!

    1. favorite comfort food – McDonald’s (side story: one time last Jan, sobra akong depressed dahil miss ko family, I had a double cheeseburger, chicken wings, large drink and large fries all in one sitting)

    2. favorite breakfast meal – garlic rice & garlic longganiza swimming in datu puti vinegar

    3. favorite lunch meal – adobo with rice

    4. favorite dinner meal – grilled liempo with vinegar & minced garlic, grilled talong, bagoong and rice at nagkakamay habang kinakain!

    5. favorite dessert – can’t say no to leche flan – kaya miss ko na yan!

    6. favorite cake – it has to be red ribbon sans rival–especially the one i get directly from its supplier! 😉

    7. favorite pasta – beef lasagna…i try it in most pasta places i go to

    8. favorite dish that others find weird – fried egg with patis (bad pero iba pa rin ang lasa kesa salt)

    9. favorite fruits that you haven’t eaten in a while – philippine mango!

    10. favorite junkfood – holy kettle corn at clover chips cheese

    11. favorite tv show related to food – oprah’s show, kasi laging may free taste ang audience 😉

    13. favorite way to eat potatoes – McDonald’s Twister Fries

    14. favorite ice cream – i recently tasted Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough. grabe, pamatay!

    15. favorite alcoholic drink when you really realy want to party – san mig light

    16. favorite bar chow – cheese sticks, sisig

    17. favorite chicken dish – classic-crispy fried chicken

    18. favorite place to eat with your sweetheart or bestfriend – it’s been a long time with both. i treasure the early morning weekend breakfasts hubby & I share habang tulog pa ang prinsesa. with my best friend–rare kasi kami lumalabas just the 2 of us, so it has to be every place we have been to together.

    19. favorite place to eath with your family – wee nam kee chicken rice! galit galit muna!

    hi Toni! your number 19 is what I miss the most. My last meal with my entire family was in 1991 pa…kaya inggit ako :(
