“Where’s the light?” is a fun thing to ask the baby now. He always looks up, flashes the light a huge gummy smile and blows raspberries at it. Sometimes I get a little splash in the eye, but it’s all good.
The question comes in handy when I have to distract him. When he’s crying and doesn’t want to open his eyes, I ask him “Timmy, where’s the light?” He’ll open his eyes, look at the light and show off that gummy smile. Ta-da! Instant happy mood.
When it’s nappy changing time, he squirms around a LOT. He rolls away whenever he can, crawling away from me with his bum exposed. It’s a really cute bottom but not when it’s all stinky. So before he flips on all fours, I ask him “Timmy, where’s the light?” He forgets about flipping and gives the light his huge gummy smile. Ta-da! Well-behaved baby and nappy change achieved!
I wonder how long this fascination will last though. Nappy changing is becoming more and more of a challenge, and I need an alternative distraction once “Where’s the light?” gets old!
