Hit by a virus, I’ve been pretty down the whole weekend. Yesterday, I just wanted to curl up in bed and pull the covers over my head. H wouldn’t hear it. Last night, he prepared dinner and made sure I ate every bite on my plate. After the meal, he cooled me down with a comfortably warm washcloth. While I dried off, he plumped up the pillows, prepared the blankets and settled the DVD player close by so I could watch Top Chef Season 4 in bed. Even as he watched TV in the living room, he would often check on me in the bedroom. I drifted off to sleep after about three episodes. I woke up to him re-fixing my pillows, making sure I was positioned comfortably and was tucked up nicely. My joints still ached, but my heart soared as I felt safe and secure in H’s care. I am a lucky lucky lucky wifey. No medicine will ever heal me that way.

i was always hit with the bug back home, so before i left, i wanted to make sure that my body is strong enough to cope with the much colder weather here in ireland. my baby bro, who is a nurse, told me to get flu and pneumonia vaccines. the easiest route would be to go to a pediatrician, as they have a steady supply of vaccines. you can get both flu and pneumonia shots at the same time, one on each shoulder. it hurts, and your arms would feel heavy for two days. but that’s it. then you have 5 years protection already. for pneumonia, you need two shots and you should have the second shot after 30 days. it works. really. i’m here for over a month, been cycling for hours in the heavy rain with strong cold winds one weekend, and had sun and rain at the same time in the same day. and NEVER have i been sick, not even a headache.
i hope you get the vaccines soon, it costs around 3,500 for both vaccines, second shot not included. but it’s very good protection. take care, and hope you are much better now!!! {{{hugs}}}
