This and That

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I found a new dress! It’s pretty and made of a crumpled material — yey, no ironing! I still believe that the brown and pink dress with stripes all over shrunk. Even H was purely objective and said it did look like it shrunk. Shrunk or shrank? Ah well, at least I have a new dress.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketCan anyone recommend a good marriage counselor? A friend of mine is working on a project that requires her to interview counselors. Any help would be greatly appreciated — you can leave the contact details in the comments section or email me directly for confidentiality. I’ll take care of forwarding your note to my friend.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketHave you seen The Bourne Ultimatum yet? Watch it. How about A Love Story? This is a local one with Maricel Soriano, Aga Mulach and Angelica Panganiban. It was good! Watch niyo na!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI’ve been reading several blogs that show off their bento box creations. They’re so creative!!! I don’t think I have the patience to sustain packing a bento box to work everyday, but I sure have the curiosity to give it a try! Can anyone recommend good containers I can use as bento boxes and bring to work?

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketI’m going to L.A.! W00t!!! So what sites should I see while I’m there? I’m definitely going to Disneyland, Universal Studios, Hollywood, etc. Any other recommendations? I’m so excited. Woohoo!

Have a great week!

Definitely dine in any of Wolfgang Puck’s restaurants in LA (wolfgangpuck.com), and / or Mario Batali’s Pizzeria Mozza or Osteria Mozza (mozza-la.com). Wolfgang Puck has a small cafe right outside Universal Studios, and though he doesn’t cook there himself, you can still sample his creations. On the other hand, Mario Batali’s Italian creations are simply divine. :) Have fun!

Wow going to LA for vacation! How sosi naman! Unfortunately, the only place I’ve been to LA is in the airport. Saang Disneyland ka? Kung sa Anaheim, yun ang napuntahan ko years ago. Unforgettable ang Star Wars ride nila. Tsaka Indiana Jones ride. Meron pa kaya mga yun? It’s been so long. Have fun!

Raid SM! 😀 They have several lock & lock sets that are good for packing lunch. Some even come with dividers. They also have thermos containers but they’re pricier.

Japan Home and Daiso are also good stores that I swear by for authentic Nakano / Lube Sheep / Vcolor bento boxes. (Yes, feeling close kami, I know them by name :P)

Hatchin also has a couple 2-tier oval bento sets (in pink!) left 😀 Yay! Go Go Bento power 😀

Oh yeah, I don’t know about LA but if you’re dropping by Daly City in San Francisco as well, they have a Daiso store there (real Japanese Daiso) that sells all sorts of Bento goodies 😀 Accessories galore!

Yehey! Glad you found the perfect dress.

I watched Bourne Ultimatum last Saturday. I enjoyed it as much as the other Bourne movies. Haven’t seen Love Story. I heard the plot is very interesting.

Have a fabulous trip to LA!

Hi Toni! Aside from Disneyland/Universal Studios/Hollywood, you should also see the beaches such as Venice Beach. It’s super nice! Also, go to Santa Monica and drop by the Third Street Promenade. It’s a cool place to hang out – nice restaurants, stores at mga shows in the middle of the street. If you want to shop, ask someone to bring you to an outlet store. Or if you do not have the time, just drop by a Ross store, yung mga bags na Nine West, Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, etc etc, are so cheap – you can get them from $12-$25 only.

‘Watched both Jason Bourne and the Angelica P. movie with soulmate before I left. One was cerebral and the other was emotional. I liked it both, but soulmate didn’t like the love story. Up to now, I don’t know why.

Hi Toni, L.A.! whoohoo! you’ve listed the major stops, so maybe Rodeo Drive would be a good addition. For shopping, or even just ogling. hehe. Have fun!

hi! if you like art, you should go to the Getty Center. just the garden is worth the trip. the architecture and the breathtaking views would make you feel transported out of hollywood-y LA. also, if you’re coming before the end of summer, you might like to catch a concert at the Hollywood Bowl.
take care and have a safe and fun trip!

btw, while in LA, you can also visit Little Tokyo near downtown to see a wide selection of japanese goodies including bento boxes/accessories. i love bento and has been hooked to the bento sites. i just think it’s too bothersome to make everyday. 😛

I agree with the suggestions above.. Universal Studios is a must. The rides are so-so but I liked the shows. I was not able to go to Disney but I heard it’s pretty cool. The beaches are a must too. As for Wolfgang Puck, I was able to dine in one last year. Expensive food but really yummy with great presentation.. but not really filling enough for me. Of course, there’s no point comparing my appetite to yours. =)

    Enjoy the trip..
