Random Rainy Day

It’s been raining all week! The skies have been grey, the air too cold and I’ve stepped on a puddle too many. It’s easy to be pulled into the dreariness of the weather! But that’s something a bowl of steaming hot Sinigang na Baboy can easily remedy.

Other good things to eat during a rainy day: The classic champorado and tuyo. Oh yummmm. If it’s still raining this weekend maybe we can prepare that. Any hot soup is also good on a rainy day. A cup of hot tea! Or cocoa. Mmmm… so comforting.

A rainy day brings so many random thoughts. So here’s more randomness…

Ah, dreary dreary weather. The song on the radio’s about the rain, too. I don’t know the title. What do you do when it rains? I love to sleep. Zzzzz. The raindrops’ rhythm become the musical score to my slumber.

I’ve also been considering the challenges you guys shared and I’m excited to try them out! It’s been awhile since I’ve painted my toenails red and I haven’t listened to a whole album of The Cure yet. Those are some of the dares I got. I’ll get to the rest soon except for the bungee jumping! I don’t think I have the guts to do that. Zorb nalang?

It’s my birthday month! Hurrah. A couple of friends and I are turning 30 next year, so with 2006 being our 29th year and all, we’re drafting a list of Things To Do Before Turning 30. Anyone have suggestions?

I’m making fruit salad again tonight, this time with graham crackers. Sarap ‘yan! I’m visiting my folks for the weekend so I’ll bring that for them. I’ll take a pic of it before it’s finished.

Have you had any rain mishaps? The other day my umbrella malfunctioned. How embarrassing! I opened the umbrella and one “branch” (what do you call those things?) of my umbrella was broken! So I walked to my office building with a limp-looking umbrella. I don’t think anyone noticed though because everyone was running for cover as it rained harder.

I suddenly remember voice tapes. When my sisters and I were kids, my parents would pop a blank cassette tape into a player and press “Record.” We would then sing to our hearts’ delight. I remember reciting this: “Rain rain go away, come again another day, little Toni wants to play.” It must’ve been raining at the time I said those lines.

Ah, it feels to good to have incoherent thoughts sometimes.

Okay time to blog-hop. Happy weekend everyone!

Hi Toni. Kabibili ko lang ng Kingdom Hearts 2 last week. And then I remembered wala nga pala akong TV! waaaahhhh.

Kapag umuulan, when I was in high school and college I like to simply sit by the window and watch the rain pour. When I was a kid, we made paper boats and let it float down the canal or we’d wade around. Malinis yung tubig-canal sa Baguio :-) We would also go to Burnham Park with our umbrellas and build dams in the mud.

Syempre, gusto ko rin ng food trip! Guinataan, lelot, kamote. Anything my sister can get hold and cook for us.

These days, I like to read a good book. Wala na akong window to view the rain eh :-(

    Happy weekend!

I love the tone of these images, and of your writing. I found your site on Michele’s, but I’ll be back on my own: your writing is captivating.

Advance happy birthday! It’s also my birthday month! hurray for both of us.

I hate rainy days… cause all I want to do on rainy days is sleep and watch tv and be lazy all day.
