“Paging Christmas Spirit!”

by

I still don’t feel the Christmas spirit. I did feel it when I helped my family put up their Christmas tree last weekend but after that, poof, it was gone. I still have gifts to buy and cards to send out! The problem is I don’t want to start on my Christmas shopping and card-writing unless I’m feeling that Christmas vibe. Oh well, I hope it does come.

My sister and I were thinking of cooking or baking new dishes for our family Noche Buena. She’s set on making Better than S** chocolate cake, while my other sister’s taking care of the traditional family fruit salad. I hope she bakes her delicious cupcakes too. I still don’t know what to bring. Kaldereta perhaps? Hehehe.

Do you feel the Christmas spirit yet? If you do, can you send a box of it my way? I sure could use a dose of it.

I your gift ready, wrapped in blue japanese paper and glittered with your name. Not very artful giftwrapping, but I was excited doing it. Does that help? :)

You can’t feel Christmas in Manila? That’s impossible! Christmas time in Manila is the best!

Unlike here, we don’t really feel the Christmas spirit, because they don’t celebrate the birth of Christ. Here, they celebrate Santa. Here, they celebrate boxing day when everything is on sale!

Like Pao, maybe all you need to do is go shopping!

I finally wrote out this year’s Official List last night. I am most definitely overwhelmed but hopefully working on my tasks will GET me into the spirit!

naku toni! i have the same sentiment. however hard i try to get into the christmas spirit, i just can’t seem to get there. i have not bought a single gift and i have not written a single card. it just does not feel christmas-y.

my husband thinks that the reason i feel this way is because i have been away from the malls for quite some time (i am a mall rat, but i haven’t been to any malls in the last 2 weeks). i remember last year, i was done with my christmas shopping before december.

    tumatanda na ata ako.

I agree with Tin, the Christmas carols/music do it for me. Then talking to my boys about Christmas and seeing the excited look on their faces get me all nostalgic and child-like too.

BTW, Jerry and I started distributing noodle packs to street families and seeing the sincere smile on their ragged faces melts any hardened heart. It’s worth a try. 😉

    Merry Christmas in advance!

Hi Toni. Send a Christmas box your way? Ano nga pala ang business address mo? I will send one by express, the same I did last time, so you will remember Paparazzi for the next 365 days come this 2006.

You may send it again by email.

Let’s always put Christ in Christmas, Toni!

Huwhaaat? You can’t feel the Christmas spirit? With all those lights in Manila right now? Or meron nga ba? Well, the spirit is not really on those lights but how you feel inside. Ako, I can feel the spirit because I am counting down the days to going home! Got your number, will call ya :) And, Merry Christmas my dear!

You’re right guys. Maybe I should start putting on those Christmas CDs, scenting our home with hot chocolate and cinnamon and starting on my XMas shopping! :) The Manila streets aren’t as decorated as before. While decor shouldn’t dictate how Christmassy one should feel, I guess it did help in setting the mood!

Toni, I have decided not to put a tree this year. My cousin’s son died a few years back from swallowing a Xmas ball… I have decided its not worth the risk, so I have opted putting a few wall decorations..
