I’m not a weirdo! I’m just special!

by

Lynn and Ganns tagged me to share 6 weird things about myself. I’d like to think of them as quirks and not weirdness though. 😀

1. I think in stories. Over at Happy Nest, I wrote about a friend whose head was always filled with music. When he asked me what was in mine, I said “Words. Stories.” There’s a story for everything, no matter how minute something is. Everyone and everything has a story. I like thinking about stories.

2. I thought the wax of queso de bola was edible and ate it for years. I was about ten when I noticed how my relatives would leave the red part on their plates. What a waste!, I thought. When I learned it was wax, I felt more sadness than shock. It was my favorite part of queso de bola!

3. I have a collection of bookmarks, but always end up using ticket stubs or random pieces of paper to mark my place instead. There’s this gorgeous bookmark I got from A Different Bookstore — it’s gold-colored with green fringes and silver stars and trinkets hanging on its end. Beautiful! After using it twice (The Painted Veil and Rosie Dunne), I left it absent-mindedly in between pages of the last book I read. I’m now reading Sleepaway: Writings on Summer Camp. My bookmark? Boarding ticket stubs from my recent Bangkok trip.

4. I’m a premature baby. Okay, that’s not weird, but it’s not normal-normal either, right? I was born at 7 months. So technically, my birthday’s supposed to be in September. Maybe that’s why I have such an affinity for sapphires, the birthstone of that month. Maybe that’s why I don’t really feel like a Leo half the time. I’ve also had my share of health problems, but I don’t think it’s because I’m premature. My friends have said I’m like an old soul or mature for my age, and they linked it to my being premature. I don’t really know if there’s a link there, but I take that as a compliment. As long as they don’t say I look old for my age, that’s fine with me. Hahaha!

5. I eat Milo powder on rice. Yummy!

6. I admit it! I’m a TomKatSuri fan! I like seeing their pictures at TOMKATCRAZY!. I subscribe to that blog and love it when new pics are uploaded. Suri is so cute!

Those are my 6 quirks. What are yours? You can leave your list of 6 Weird Things right here in the comments section, or place them on your blog.

Toni, thanks! :) Anyway, you got me at #2. I had a good laugh when it came to the part “and ate it for years”. #5, hmmm, chocolate flavored rice? Make a champorado, quick. :) I tried having evaporated milk on rice though.

The queso de bola one is cute! I have this picture of a pigtailed Toni in a school uniform staring sadly at the cheese crust left on her plate, hehe.

Suri is just so adorable, but Tom Cruise scares me! And I never liked Katie Holmes 😀

Anyway I’ve seen A Painted Veil, and I loved it. Thanks so much for the reco. The parts where Edward Norton spoke Chinese cracked me up though 😀
