Everyone is Beautiful

by

Hello beautiful ones! Thank you for participating in the previous post’s little game. Let me tell you this: I am very proud of you! It takes a lot of self-awareness and belief in oneself to declare “I am beautiful.” Acknowledging one’s beauty is healthy, as long as it does not border on vanity and overconfidence. There might have been some who didn’t feel comfortable completing the statement. That’s okay. But do consider this: Everyone is innately beautiful. Nurture your beauty!

You said you are beautiful because of how you interact with loved ones. How you stand by your values. How you delight in your womanhood. How you take care of your self. How you find joy in your physical gifts. How you have come to terms with who you are. How you cherish your friends and family. How you see beauty in the simplest of things. Beauty, I learned from you, can be defined in so many ways. They were very inspiring to read and reflect on.

One glaring thing I realized is how you consider yourselves beautiful because loved ones believed in you. You have a husband, children, family, friends, who may have expressed how much they appreciate you, how much they hold you dear to their hearts, how they accept you for who you are. Even a simple gesture or a compliment from a stranger can make us feel beautiful. While nurturing one’s beauty starts from within, knowing how we are valued by others is a good trigger in appreciating our own beauty.

Today, tell someone else how beautiful he or she is. It may be a compliment on that person’s looks or on a particular trait. It may even be as simple as saying thank you for something he or she has done for you or for others. It helps to be specific. For as long as it is shared sincerely, that statement will go a long way in helping another feel valued, feel beautiful.

Everyone is innately beautiful! So do nurture that beauty — be it your own or other’s.
