Positive Thoughts in Action

by

I’d like to share part of a note I sent a good friend. Positive thoughts attract positive energy! So think happy thoughts everyone! Good things come to those who strive to own positivity.

Dear Bi,

I have a cute story about POSITIVITY. I’m sure you’ve heard of “The Secret” right? It’s a very popular book. I haven’t read it yet but I’ve been told that its essence is this: Positive thoughts attract positive energy. And so!

Last week, I found myself alone during the lunch hour. I wanted to go to Powerbooks, eat pasta there and also buy a book I’ve been wanting. It was around 11:45 so I was losing hope that I’d get a table. I walked to the bookstore anyway. While I was walking, I kept picturing this in my head: sitting at the corner table by the window, eating pasta that’s tomato-based and creamy at the same time (not all restaurants have that though), drinking iced tea, reading the book I want to buy (“Teach Me” by R.A. Nelson).

Nothing. When I got there, it was full. Grrr. And the book I wanted wasn’t in the spot I last saw it in. Defeated? No! I went to the Young Adult section to look for my book. I was thinking that by the time I got back down, I’d have the corner table. So I paid for the book and went to the cafe. No luck. But there was a free table at the center of the cafe. I took it.

When I looked at the menu, I became giddy. They had a new offering for pasta — with creamy tomato sauce! Right beside the name of the dish, there was “NEW!”. Amazing timing! Of course I ordered that and my iced tea. Then I started reading my new book. At the corner of my eye, I could see the ladies at the corner table I wanted paying their bill.

I called the waiter and asked him if he could help me move to that table once the ladies have billed out. True enough, when they stood up, he came towards me to clear my table, and he signaled to another waitress that I’d be moving to that spot.

So there I was, seated at the corner table, looking out the window, reading the book I wanted, eating my creamy tomato sauce pasta and sipping on my iced tea.

If that’s not positivity in action, I don’t know what is. Bliss!

:)

ang galing naman ng positive thoughts na ito. hmmmm… let me see, if i imagine myself riding a mercedes benz and parking it in a big house with a “Mr. and Mrs. Ed Refugia” on the mailbox, that means it might come true? 😉 Ngayon pa lang pag-iipunan ko na at tataya na ako lagi sa sweepstakes para makuha ko yun hehehehe :)

kidding aside… this entry made me feel so light. thank you for those happy thoughts.
