Good morning! I’ve got some recipes and cleaning tips in mind, but am not up to writing them just yet. Please indulge me in my random thoughts for today.
At the end of this post, I’d like to read some of your random thoughts too. Write down the first thoughts that enter your mind for each of the following five themes. Be sure to write down your thoughts in the comments section before reading my take on them!

So here’s my side of randomness:
About Me. I updated this page to reflect the other coves I blog in. I just reread it and I sound awfully boring. Ha! Maybe I should’ve put in bungee-jumping and walking on broken glass as my hobbies to jazz it up a little bit.
Currently Reading. I finished Mitch Albom’s For One More Day two weekends ago. Was it good? Let’s just say I wanted to go back running to my parents like a kid who just scraped her knee. Spend as much quality time as you can with your loved ones, that’s the book’s lesson. I’m currently reading The Painted Veil by W. Somerset Maugham. I do judge a book by its cover, and this book’s beautifully poignant cover intrigued me. H sweetly surprised me with the DVD a day later, but I think I’ll hold off watching the film till I finish the book. So far, so good.
Distraction. Someone close to my heart is undergoing some tests to determine how sick s/he is. I am having an emotional turmoil and it’s tough to be strong. Don’t you hate the feeling of being in limbo? Of having to wait for results? You don’t know whether it will be good or bad, but there’s nothing you can do but wait. And pray. I am glad to be surrounded by people much stronger than I am. I draw my strength from them. This is also why I am unable to post anything but randomness at the moment.
Make your own ice cream. It is way too hot here in Manila! Part of yesterday was spent indulging at Cold Rock. My favorite mix: Low-fat yogurt with frozen strawberries and Rice Krispies. I highly recommend it! On the home front, my Mom-in-law made her own frozen concoction by mixing 2 spoons of durian jam in a glass of full cream milk, then putting it in the freezer. It’s a refreshing summer cooler. I didn’t get to try it as I’m not too fond of durian anyway, but perhaps you can create your own using other fresh fruits.
Where would you rather be right now? Lots of places. I’d love to be shopping in Bangkok right now. I’d love to be with my family just chilling in the veranda, exchanging stories over ice cold glasses of Coke and freshly cooked turon. I’d love to be at home playing Sims 2 with H by my side playing with his PSP. I’d love to be in the States with my whole family!!! I want a vacation there. Now na!

Distraction: reading blogs and thinking about the Veronica Mars episode next week. (My conscience says: STOP BLOG-HOPPING AND GO BACK TO WORK! My naughty self replies: well, maybe after I finish this comment).
Make your own ice cream: Craving for some pinipig crunch right now, but I would love to have one of those Dairy Queen soft serve machines and make my own Blizzards at home using whatever chocolates or fruit I have in the fridge.
Where would you rather be right now? It’s very cold outside so I would say Boracay.

MAKE YOUR OWN ICE CREAM: I discovered that fruit-flavored ice creams go really well with slices of fresh fruits including kiwi (it goes well with strawberry and mango ice creams).

Make your own ice cream. – boring pick–but i like a banana split with only 1 scoop of strawberry & 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream–and with 4 strips of banana!

Currently Reading. i’m currently re-reading “What No One Tells The Bride” by Marg Stark since yesterday. i bought this book last year in preparation for being a bride and wife. i plan to write something about this book in a separate blog entry. for those who are engaged, a newlywed wife or a not-so newlywed wife—this book is a must!
Distraction. i have lots! since this morning i’ve been thinking of stuff: i’m worried about the package that i sent to my beloved (i’m afraid it might never reach him), i’m asking myself if i should make a career move (for a more extensive personal growth) and i’m contemplating on buying a holga or lomo camera as i’m very interested in learning about lomography. and another thing, since i’m contemplating on buying a lomo camera, i’m trying to figure out awhile ago (while i was studying my budget excel sheet) on how i can manage buying one without making much dent on our budget. (hindi naman sya ganun kamahal pero diet ako sa pag-gastos ngayon hehehe).
Make Your Own Ice Cream. three scoops of ice cream: vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, topped with strawberries, whipped cream and barquillos. my other option would be (if ice cream is not available), low fat yogurt and crushed ice topped with strawberries and barquillos.
Where would you rather be right now? oh i could be anywhere. i could be exploring the shopping districts of hongkong. i’d want to be walking along the cobblestone streets of rome. or maybe eating halo-halo and bananaQ in the streets of manila. sunset watching in boracay while sipping mango shake is another option. doing lomography shoots underwater. and best of all i could be walking hand in hand with my beloved along jumeirah beach in dubai.

Make your own ice cream — did this for chem class during my freshman year in college. we accidentally poured salt in the milk/cream mixture (instead of sa ice :P) so we just put in LOTS of sugar to hide the saltiness haha.

currently reading: The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova – its a very interesting and compelling story about the search for the truth behind the existence of vampires. It’s well-written and very involving. A must read for those who love suspense and mystery.

where would i rather be: travelling around Europe with my husband…. enjoying a gelato on the spanish steps, riding a gondola along the Venician canals, posing for a caricature along river Sien, looking up at the roof of the Sistine chapel or looking down from the top of the Eiffel Tower.
