Three Things That Make You Go “Huh?!”

by

Pic from stock.xchng - http://www.sxc.hu/ 1. I want my TV Commercials! When relatives travel to the States, the usual pasalubong I ask for is a VHS-full of TV shows and commercials. My cousin Iya is terrific, she helps me out with that. I really enjoy watching the shows in advance (since they’re usually late here diba!) and the commercials in between them.

2. I love mixing Milo powder with my white rice. This has been one of my favorite childhood snacks. I still do that. Yum yum. It’s just like champorado without the soupy texture. A lot of people find it weird but ooooh this is one of my comfort foods.

3. PDAs do not work for me. Personal Digital Assistants confuse me. I’ve always preferred writing my to-do lists by hand. I feel I remember things better if I write them out in longhand versus just clicking on a little pad. While I love the games that go with the device, I prefer Post-It notes and a Pilot pen when it comes to reminding myself of schedules and things to do.

I’m sure there are things about you that makes people go “Huh?!” C’mon, share them! We’re all a little quirky. 😉

I think the smell of Salonpas is heavenly while everyone thinks it stinks. No one likes raisins except for me, they hand me all the oatmeal raisin cookies or the raisins from the empandas. And I am not ashamed of liking teeny-bopper things 😛

I’m like you – PDA’s are much too much work! As long as I have a notebook and pen, I’m good to go. Have you seen the PocketMods?

i was about to write something like this in my blog – but anyway, i thought i’d say something about it here.

    1. if i see a coin on the streets or anywhere, i refuse to pick it up unless it’s heads face up :) lucky daw eh.

    2. any meal that involves rice, after i finish my plate of food, i will get a spoonful of rice, shape it up into a small ball and eat it – just to finish me off – totally what the and huh? moment. (kasi, pangpatanggal ng oily feel of the food)

3.when i order a sandwich or something similar from subway or anywhere – i will have only 3 forms of vegetable in there – carrots, beetroot and olives. – i refuse to eat iceberg lettuce, any other kinds i will eat.

    4. i prefer to eat my fruit cut up into small pieces first and place it nicely in a small plate rather than eating it as a whole thing.

marami pang quirks.. kaso nakakahiyang e-post heheheh :)

    Hhmmm …

    Mine would be …

    1) I eat powdered milk as is …

    2) I eat cereals without the milk … I don’t even eat them in the morning … anytime of the day …

    3) I eat crab sticks without cooking them … same goes for mushrooms …

    err…

i eat powdered milk :) either with just sugar… or with sugar and some water (to make it into pastillas-like paste)

i eat tomatoes raw (dipped in toyo and calamansi) but i won’t eat tomatoes once they’re cooked (in omelets and sinigang and what-not)…. the same is true for carrots and raisins which i don’t eat once cooked :)

oh, and i eat raisins as is… add them to a salad (thus, non-cooked) and i won’t eat them anymore :)

i used to also feast on hotdogs straight from the fridge 😀

toni… what my sis does is powdered milk on rice naman :)

I just love commercials. Here’s a funny one:
    Cat Herders

Tried to find the old Blue Bell singing cow commercial, but alas… it eludes me.

Quirky? I used to read the Thesaurus as a kid. I love words… although you could hardly tell with my unversed use of them.

I agree with number three! I wanted a PDA before, but it’s a good thing I tried it out. I didn’t like it at all. You should see my Starbucks planner 2006…it’s so dilapidated already! 😉

oh, i certainly can relate to your no. 3 Tons. i’m not very techie, and still prefer pen and paper over gadget. nothing beats the personal touch, even with just writing our to-do lists, di ba?

and yes, i love post-its too! i’d love to have them in different colors, shapes and sizes!

    Quirks? Who’s got quirks? 😉

I’ve got a million of them, but here’s a selection:

    1) I eat any round food in a spiral, nibbling off the edges first and working my way around and around to the center. (This applies to cookies and burgers and such…but not pizza – it’s usually served in triangles, after all. :))

    2) I have an aversion to corn in the form of the pile of kernels on my plate. Corn in other formats is ok, but not so much as a pile.

    3) I have a magpie – like habit of keeping brightly colored bits of paper and fabric, even small ones, in case I need them for crafts some day.

    1. i like to eat iba (bisayan term for kamias) – raw, sliced very thinly, swimming in a sauce of vinegar, toyo and lots of red peppers…yum!

    2. i wear socks around the house, because my feet are always cold, and i don’t like the feel of carpet on my bare feet.

    3. like you, i don’t like to make electronic lists. i have my good ol’ notebooks for that. :-)

    Ka-aliw naman to…

    Mine are here:
    1. I eat powdered milk too. I especially like the infant formula! 😀
    2. I mentioned it before… I wipe my the office toilet seat with alcohol, toss the toilet paper on the floor, do my thing, flush, wash my hands, wipe my hands clean with tissue, toss the tissue again on the floor, step on the tissues and “wipe” these on the floor. I get another square of toilet paper to pick up the soiled ones and toss them all in the trash bin.
    3. After a shower, I direct the shower head (with goose neck) on the walls and floor and rinse whatever soapy residue I left while washing.

Yan muna…Isip pa me ng iba…

    # 1 is because of your interest and your career
    # 2 is for your energy drink meal – kaya bouncing off the walls ka?
    # 3 is because we remember better when we write it down, we memorize it twice diba?

    # 2 is champorado di ba? dried champorado nga lang…

Ka aliw talaga mga commercials natin Tones. There was this commercial that made me cry nga eh. That kid na gusto ng Selecta ice cream? Dumaan si Mamang Sorbetero and he kept calling his Mommy, until he realized wala pala kaya naiyak siya…when his Mom arrived, she was bringing some ice cream of course, kakatouch :)

Hi Toni! Couldn’t resist sharing a couple of my quirks…
    (1) If I’m having a sleepless night, (I am an insomniac, so sleepless means SLEEPLESS – yung tipong mangiyak-iyak na ako sa antok pero di pa rin makatulog!), I drink coffee. The stronger the coffee, the faster I fall asleep, and the better I sleep! People always go HUH?! when they hear this.
    (2) I LOVE mayo! I can eat it with anything! I especially love it with sinigang!— hehe do I hear Ewww? or HUH?!
… oh, and my Mom’s quirk, mai-share ko lang rin… She wants her coffee piping hot, as in, kumukulo-kulo pa, then she adds an ice cube – just one- to her cup. HUH?! never got the logic of that, but it makes me smile when I think of it. =)
