The past four weeks has been an emotional rollercoaster. I’m not talking about the ones that just go up and down — I’m talking major spins, dips, twists and turns! Moving out of old space is no joke. We’ve moved twice in our almost 3-year marriage. It gets pretty tiring when you don’t know where to grow roots just yet.
We’ve finally moved into our new place. Boxes cover most of the floor space for now. There are two floors worth of obstacle courses! We’re still recovering from moving out, so we’ll unpack our things little by little (if we can help it!).
I am so tired. I think about the almost maxed out credit card, the unpaid bills, my unfiled CTC, the extra pounds from vacation,… I’m close to breaking down.
Then I think of our warm home far away from the business district, of chilling out with H on our new couch, of breathing in fresh air in our very own home (no more heavy traffic pollution thank goodness), of having my best friend drop by anytime since he lives a floor below us, of tough times in the past that were overcome.
And then I believe that things will be okay. “This too shall pass.” You just have to keep working hard. You just have to keep going no matter how difficult everyday living can get. It’s all about putting things back into perspective and not getting overwhelmed. That’s just how life is. It’s about knowing when to hold on tightly and when to lift your arms up during that rollercoaster ride. Heck, it sure beats riding the carousel.

February 13, 2006 at 9:30 pm (18 years ago)Just you wait till you have kids, then moving is a NIGHTMARE. At least you’ve only moved twice. Me on the other hand, we average almost 1 a year. We are due to move again as we need more space for P, a backyard etc. But we are just over the moving bit. Way too much. But if we decide to purchase a house, then I suppose that’s another ball game alltogether. Speaking of moving, H is somewhat of a moving guru, he’s moved all his life. But it’s still not as easy, it’s me who has to deal with the packing and unpacking. The thing with me though, every sinlge time we move, I have to unpack the same day as the move. Then I can rest my laurels. I torture myslef! LOL. At least you get to redecorate. Where are you guys living now?
