Be your best self today

by

Happy Chinese Girl!

Today, be your best self.

Best is not making sure your back is always straight, or that your hair is parted neatly. Best is not a shirt that’s wrinkle-free, or covering your mouth when you laugh in the middle of the crowd.

Celebrate what makes you happy. It’s when your happiest that you’re at your best.

Slide in that extra slice of salami in your sandwich. Let it be your little breakfast treat to start your day with extra joy. Walk the sunlit path and not the shadowed concrete sidewalk. Let the warmth of the morning put you in a joyful mindset on yet another busy workday. Wear mismatched socks and don’t tell anyone, or show the world if you want to! Life isn’t always ABCs, 123, red on red and blue on blue. Mix it up a bit and enjoy the spark a little mismatch brings.

Wear the shoes that make you feel the way you want to feel, not the shoes that make you look the way you should appear. If where you stay or work or play is a world that’s ruled by blacks, whites and greys, accessorise with colors (or wear bright red undies!).

What makes you feel happy? What makes you feel happiest?

Bring a little of those into today. Today it could be a dash of dark red lipstick that will make you feel giddiest. Tomorrow it could be dancing to the soundtrack of your favorite movie while you get ready for work. The next day it could be an extra fifteen minutes in bed with the family before hitting rush hour. These moments can go a long way in making the rest of your day more enjoyable. Grab these pockets of happiness and amplify them in ways that make your day brighter, bigger, better.

It’s when you’re happiest that you’re at your best.

C’mon and share! What will bring about your best self today?
