Here’s a tip for my expectant friends: While you’re in the labor room, have someone take pictures of what’s going on outside the labor or delivery room. It makes for great stories later on, and you get to catch up on what went on while you were busy huffing and puffing. (Now if you want pictures of yourself while you’re in labor, you can do that too. That’ll be a test of how patient a person you are!) In my case, I asked my sister to take pictures. I figured my husband would be on panic mode so I didn’t even think of asking him! Here are some highlights from the set.
My sister was so excited when she got the call I was in labor that she drove to the hospital with one foot halfway in her shoe. Heehee.
As soon as I got to the hospital, I turned over my pregnancy folder to H. This folder contained all the forms needed to make the hospital process quicker (ex. SSS forms, Philhealth, medical records, information sheets, etc.). I later found out that H said he was relieved I put everything together this way. It made it easier for him to coordinate with the hospital.
After this picture was taken, H was called into the labor room. I was beginning to feel stronger contractions, and he stayed by my side the whole time.
I think it tells a wonderful story, don’t you?

February 19, 2010 at 2:37 pm (14 years ago)My mom will surely agree with you. About 20 something years ago, she asked her nurse and anesthesiologist, who were her friends cum co-employees, to take photos while she were giving birth to me thru CS. The photos always bring lots of memories everytime my photo album is viewed. ^_^

February 20, 2010 at 10:28 pm (14 years ago)Hi Toni, you gave birth at CSMC? Based from your room, seems like you did not avail of their maternity package? Wala lang…. i did.. and i think it’s one of the best decision i’ve made. Malaki din yung savings.
