Weekend Soiree #65: A game of comment interaction

by

The game is easy! I will ask a question. The first person who comments will answer my question, and will leave a question for the next person to answer. This next person will answer that question, and leave a question for the next next person to answer. I am sure you get it!

To make things more fun, the questions have to reflect the chosen theme. For example, if the theme is VEGETABLES, all questions should relate to that topic. How do you enjoy your brussel sprouts? Do you have any techniques to get your kids to eat their greens? As much as possible, let’s not repeat the questions for added fun! You are welcome to play more than once.

Let’s take a look at or remember or dream of baby bumps for our 65th weekend soiree!

The theme: PREGNANCY

The question: What food couldn’t you get enough of when you were pregnant?

Aside from Filipino food which I couldn’t get (otap! espasol! Jollibee Chickenjoy!) I had to have Nutella on toast everyday 😀

How did you tell your husband you were pregnant?

I ate at Chili’s once a freaking week ordering their contry-style chicken strips (read: fried). I always ordered it with rice and corn on the cob. sometimes, I ordered from there twice. Chili’s was across the office I worked back then. God, no wonder I gained 40 lbs.! But they were my favorite.

To answer Christianne’s question: I just ran downstairs, screaming and telling him I just got a positive test! he made me take another one. Haha. When it was positive too we jumped up and down, told my brother who heard us screaming and we played loud music and danced. Good memories.

Question: Did your libido increase or decrease when you got pregnant/your spouse got pregnant?

There was a point that it increased, however, I had a delicate pregnancy so it was a no-no. :)

Q: How did you share the good news to family and friends?

My answer to Christianne’s Q — I sent him a text message saying “Congratulations Daddy!” and he immediately called back.

My answer to Pinayhekmi’s Q — I believe it was the same.

My answer to Rach’s Q — We actually waited 3 months before announcing my pregnancy… some beliefs.

My answer to Maver’s Q — We wanted a boy and we got it.

My answer to Marie’s Q — Sorry, but I didn’t feel nauseated at all. I had an easy pregnancy until the 9th month, then it was pre-eclampsia.

I got mixed opinions. Of course the ones who predicted we were having a girl said I looked prettier. The ones who predicted we were having a boy just said I looked prettier….when I wasn’t pregnant yet. They probably knew not to mess with a pregnant woman.

Did you feel unreasonably irritated with certain people when you were pregnant? Basing it on the Pinoy belief of ‘naglilihi.”

A: No, I didn’t have any irritaions/aversion or liked anyone/anything in particular. I’m on my 4th month now but I don’t have any signs of “paglilihi”.

Q: Did you join/are you planning to join birthing classes? If yes what kind and if you already joined before how was it?

During my pregnancy, I craved for green and yellow mangoes. More on yellow mangoes. By the time I gave birth, I must have eaten crates and crates of yellow mangoes.

Oh and the jolly jeep banana-Qs as well. Yum yum yum!
