Shopping with my husband

Shopping with my husband
{My new favorite pink top my husband chose for me.}

Shopping with my husband is stress relief for me. I can always count on him to recommend what looks good on me, even if I don’t think it looks good on me in the store.

I’m not very fond of clothes shopping. Grocery shopping I consider therapy, but clothes shopping is very stressful for me. I go shopping only when needed — a new job, when my tops are faded, when my tops have torn from overuse, a super fancy party, or attending an event that requires you to wear a particular color. If other women are naturally gifted in fashion and styling, this woman is short on that. Thank goodness for my husband, my dependable shopping buddy!

Shopping with my husband

“You’ll find something! Relax,” he assured me, as we drove to Greenhills Shopping Center yesterday morning. I was attending a get-together in the afternoon, and we were to wear the blog’s colors – pink, white and light gray. I was excited to finally get something new for myself, but at the same time scared that I wouldn’t find anything I liked.

When we got to the mall, my husband took me straight to Una Rosa. He knew I loved that store but would only buy from it when I really needed new clothes. It was time! We told the very eager saleslady the colors I needed, and off I went to the dressing room trying on clothes in pink, white and light gray.

After each outfit change, I’d step out of the dressing room and show my husband what I was wearing. He’s always very encouraging. Shopping with my husband takes away the stress of knowing the answer of “Does this look good on me?!” If the clothes look good, he’d give a thumbs up, say “There! That looks good on you!”, or say “That will look good for later.” If they don’t look good, he’d go “No”, “Hmmm…” or “Where would you wear that?”

One more insight I have when shopping with my husband is that whatever he chooses for me always looks good. For example, I’d try on a top and go “Ew. I look fat in this.” He’d go, “That suits you.” I’d go, “No, it doesn’t look good on me.” The conversation would ping pong until I’d give in, and voila, I’d come to love the outfit when I’d get home. I’d realize that, “Oooooh, he’s right!”

Another happy realization of the shopping trip was that I liked pink after all! I’m not very fond of pink clothes for myself, but there were several tops I want to go back for! They were just beyond my budget already so I’ll get them another time. (If they’re still in the shop. Huhuhu.)

After about half an hour of trying clothes, we walked out of the store with three super nice tops and two necklaces. Super awesome!

Thanks, Husby, for being such a wonderful and patient shopping buddy.

What was this super important event I was going to anyway? You’ll read about it more on the blog this week! But here’s a sneak peek, from Martine’s Instagram:

    Glad your husband is shopping with you. Some husband just won’t go with us, but they do it when they are still courting, they dont even mind if went to the underwear section and even let them pick up some panties, but after some years of being married, all he thinks is going to sports or stay at home and still watch sports.. hehe sorry for the rant, but im really glad his doing it with you..

      Thanks Emelie. I try not to take too long either, because my husband has a limit on my shopping too. Haha! But yes, very blessed here indeed. <3

    Super pogi points to the hubby! Some husbands would discourage purchasing. I should know, my friend prefers to go shopping with me instead of with her husband.
