Quirks make a marriage fun!

Quirks alert! My husband was about to pour sugar into his coffee when I interrupted him by whipping out my phone.

“Husby! Can I take a pic of BOTH our coffees first??!” CLICK!!

I Take Thee… Quirks and All!

He’s used to it. Whenever our order comes, he knows to give me a couple of minutes to take pics of the food. It’s one of those quirks of being married to someone addicted to blogging and social media. I’m grateful he’s not annoyed by it. 😛 He’s into social media too, but thank goodness we’re not as addicted as this bride and groom:

When we have down time at a restaurant or a coffee shop together, we escape to our own thing. For him, it’s his gadgets. For me, it’s my phone or my Kindle. Spending quiet time together is lots of fun. We talk, of course, but ultimately find comfort in each other’s company, whatever the other is doing.

That’s one of the most fun things about being married. I’m very thankful he indulges my little quirks, whether it’s quiet time with my Kindle even if we’re together, or taking pictures of our food before the actual meal.

In case you were wondering, I wanted to take a picture of our coffee to remember that evening. They’re just two cups of coffee in the picture, but there’s a whole story behind it. We were stuck in Makati because of heavy rains. He had a great idea of walking to a hotel we used to frequent, and have coffee in the lobby to warm up. It was a great time to just be together. Of course, he pulled out his iPad while we chilled, and I got pulled into a telecon (yes, work). Nonetheless, it was a happy evening because we got to have coffee together.

What quirks of yours has your partner accepted or is currently putting up with? Are there any quirks that may be harder to tolerate? Share your thoughts!

I love reading your posts about you and your husband. It reminds me a lot of my marriage. My husband has gotten used to waiting for me to finish my “photoshoot” (as he calls it) before digging into whatever food we’d ordered at a restaurant. He and I also spend a lot of time just sitting next to each other with us both on our Kindles, phones or laptops. We enjoy the comfortable silence that settles between us once in a while. :) Looking forward to your next post, Toni!

Just last Thursday, Mike and I were in a coffee shop having lunch. We were seated together listening to the podcast of The Morning Rush (RX 93.1 radio show) using his earphones. So to other people we were not talking. The funny thing is sabay kami tatawa when we hear something funny. Siguro other people would think we’re a crazy couple. hahaha.
