Questions and ramblings

by

Thanks to all who’ve joined my journal contest! (See sidebar) I can’t wait to start the raffle at midnight (MNL time) — so if you still want to join, you’ve still got time. Thanks for making time to write such heartwarming entries. I find them very encouraging and your favorite entries give me an idea of what to pursue further in my blog.

I start my new work on Monday, so that’s pretty exciting. It’s a new industry I’ll be in so I feel a wee bit scared but even more thrilled. Newness is always a welcome change, right? Walk on water when you can!

I’m thinking of getting my hair colored. Now THAT’s where I don’t want to walk on water. I have till tomorrow to decide so hmmm…. any recommendations? I know zilch about do’s and don’ts for hair. For as long as I keep it clean and out of my face, I’m fine.

Thanks to everyone who showered me with anniversary greetings. H & I celebrated our wedding anniversary weekend at The Boutique Bed & Breakfast Hotel in Tagaytay. It was a very good stay. I’ll write about it soon after we sort through the photos.

I’ve got a June blog carnival lined up, will make the announcement next week. :)

Any ideas for the weekend soiree? Throw in your ideas for themes in the comments section.

And to the married ones, I ask you: “If there was something you could change about your wedding preparations (from the beginning till the big day and maybe even after), what would you change?” While our wedding days may have been kickass happy, I’m certain there were little snags here and there that could’ve been avoided. Let’s help the about-to-be-married ones learn from our experiences. I’ll compile the answers and publish them in So You’re Getting Married.

Aaw! I won’t be able to make it before the cut-off. :(

Btw, I am excited with your hair exploration and about your joining another industry. That’s like leaving your comfort zone for a while. :)

I just came from the hairdresser. I chickened out on the hair color. Hahaha. I did get my hair styled again, but for the hair color, I’ll put that on hold first. I love my black hair kasi. And for the new industry, woohoo! Scared and excited. I guess that’s a good thing!

Hi Jeanny! Yun hair color pag-iisipan ko pa. I’m leaning towards highlights nalang. Or papa-cellophane ako ng may konting red. Uso pa ba yon? Hehe.

wow, i’m excited with your new job too! :)
i wish you good health, and wisdom for everything you have to do and learn.

i love the “wedding” topic!!!! about my wedding? hmm, 1) i would have had someone distribute and mail the invitations and follow-up the reply cards. it was a bit crazy for me, and i ended up forgetting so many people. 2) a very good, funny reception party involving my relatives and younger cousins. they still enjoyed anyhow, but it could’ve been better….there are more, i just don’t remember now. i’ll come back later soon as i remember it. :)

Wow, so soon! You’ll be rockin the new work place, I know! :)

About hair color, you know it damages your hair right? It breaks it, makes it dry and causes split ends if not treated with the right shampoo and stuff. It may be all trendy and everything but I suggest you get a new haircut na lang. It’s safer for you and your hair. That’s just my two cents.

I want to change a lot of things on my wedding: the flowers, the invitation, the guest list, the venue.. though everything went well even without a rehearsal. I thought that was cool. I wish I had more time to prepare. Time is essential for big events such as weddings. If you haven’t the time though, having a checklist and people helping you out are very important.

We share the same sentiments about hair! I have dry hair, so I was thinking color could damage it. I’ve done it before though and my hair was okay…. I’ll think about it some more. Maybe highlights? πŸ˜€ Thanks for the wedding tips too!

regarding your hair, have you considered getting dark brownish/reddish highlights? your hair’s so dark and rich i’d hate to see it washed out in a totally different color (parang may say ako eh, no!) para classy pa din ang dating, pero may konting arte, hehe. :)

β€œIf there was something you could change about your wedding preparations (from the beginning till the big day and maybe even after), what would you change?”

i’d probably get a much better coordinator, and would have asked them to organize a more fun and interactive reception for the guests. i went crazy because the night before the wedding, they called me at the hotel (12am) to ask about song choices, which i’ve already given in advance. also, i wish i had thought about our ride after the reception, hehe. a few friends wanted to stay longer, but unfortunately i totally overlooked our ride option, so we had to go with my parents/relatives who wanted to leave early. ang weird naman kung magca-cab kami sa manila habang naka-bridal gown ako, hehe. πŸ˜€

Thanks for the super tip, abs!!! I’m leaning towards that suggestion nga eh. Soon I will do it. Nawalan ako ng guts sa salon kanina. Hahaha. I just got a haircut and had my eyebrows threaded. πŸ˜€ Love those kikay moments!

    Thanks for the wedding tips!

weekend game topic – favorite/dream “Pasyalan” in the philippines

wedding preparations/wedding day – I could have hired or asked one of my friends to be the coordinator. I felt sorry for the secondary and principal sponsors that they have to march unprepared before the start of the wedding. At the reception, i had friends which travelled for almost 3 hours and have to wait for like 30 minutes before chairs and table were assigned to them.

These inspired me to be the wedding coordinator on my kumare’s wedding and corrected almost all the “mistakes”/bloopers i have observed on my wedding :)

Hi barbiegel! Thank you for the wedding tips and the theme suggestion. And nice naman how you helped prevent those wedding bloopers you experienced in your friend’s wedding. Bait naman!

good luck on your new job toni! i’m sure you’ll kick butts over there. :)

about my wedding, the ceremony and suppliers were all ok so i would hardly change anything there. pero, if there’s one thing i could do-over, I would probably change the reception programme, hehe. it turned out fun and formal (because most everything was pretty traditional), which was fine. except siguro, sa susunod i’ll try to make it more fun and less formal. πŸ˜€

as for your hair, anything except blonde sana, hehe. :)

dude, i coloured my hair violet 2 weeks ago. i was so excited to see the results… and you know what, it’s still black. there are like, HINTS of violet when my hair hits the sun, but apart from that nothing much happened. if you’re colouring your hair, choose reddish shades. :)
