Puffi Cones!

by

They look weird, don’t they? But trust me, they taste fantastic!

I got this idea from Renee. Puffi Cones were a favorite snack of mine when I was a kid, and boy was I ecstatic when she shared a recipe for this snack!

What I needed: 1 Box of Instant Brownie Mix, Jet Puffed Marshmallows, A Dozen Baby Cones (you know, those mini ones?)

What I did: I preheated the oven to 300 degrees. Then I prepared the brownie mix according to pack directions. When done, I spooned some brownie mix into each cone. I filled the cone about 3/4 of the way. I put the cones on a muffin pan and placed it in the oven. 25 minutes into the baking, I took out the cones, placed a marshmallow on top of each cone and put them back into the oven. After about 10-15 minutes, the brownies looked baked enough so I took them out of the oven and let them cool. By this time, the marshmallows were falling off! So look at the pics above and that’s how they looked. After letting them cool, I took a bite and WOW! Yummy! It’s not the same as the Puffi Cone experience but it was still YUMMY!!!

What I should’ve done differently: Well, the brownies rose of course halfway into the baking. I planned on stuffing the cones with the marshmallow but since I filled the cones up 3/4 of the way, there was no more room for stuffing. Next time, I will fill the cones just a little under halfway and then stuff the marhsmallow in. Or better yet, spoon a bit of the mixture, stuff the marshmallow in then cover with the mixture.

My family LOVVVVVVVed it. I loved that my picky Daddy finished a whole Puffi cone and praised it repeatedly. I saw my sister eating a couple of the cones. I wish my kid cousins were there to taste them. I did promise Mama I’d make them for our next family gathering!

The gooeyness of the marshmallows mixed with the sweetness of the cakey brownies and the crunchy cone made for a heavenly experience. And NO, I’m not exaggerating. This from a person who isn’t too fond of sweets. Go go go try it. Just make sure your Puffi Cones look better than mine.
